Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and the initiative of Dr. Abeer Tawakkol, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University.
A workshop on “Fundamentals of Electronics and Robotics” took place on February 14, 2022, in the work space room located in the Specific Programs Building. The workshop will last for seven days, it addresses children from 8 to 16 years old. The activities of the workshop are attractive, interesting and useful.

Dr. Abeer took into consideration the consolidation of several aspects that the child acquires during and after the completion of the workshop, including; how to learn, how to make use of free time, how to experiment, how to trust themselves, how to create, and how to invent.

It was taken into account to provide a simplified practical explanation of basic tools for modern technology in the field of robotics to develop the skills of analysis, logic and to lay the brick of creative thinking through teaching the robot in order to prepare the child’s mind later to invent things as a result of his prior knowledge and his mental stock of the surrounding. It also refines many of the child’s skills such as; the power of observation and analysis of what he sees with his eyes, he is accustomed to innovation within a work team, which instills in him the spirit of participation and cooperation. In the short term, the child will develop the level of his studies in scientific subjects, which in turn will become more interesting and attractive. Later the child will be motivated to apply in local, regional and international competitions. It is worth noting that during the activities of the first day of the workshop, children were taught to design and implement a simple electrical circuit.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering chaired a meeting with members of the faculty’s Administrative Advisory Council, on February 2, 2022, in the presence and participation of Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean of the Faculty.

His Excellency declared that this meeting has several goals, the most important of which is the consolidation of team work spirit among members of the faculty. Prof. Abdel Azim mentioned that we should celebrate the joy of change, development, the results we have reached and what our faculty has achieved. His Excellency insisted on the necessity of accomplishing what we hope for. He presented the most important achievements that have been made in the recent period, what is about to be completed and what is planned for its implementation in the very near term. At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Abdel Azim opened the door for discussion to listen to the views and requirements of the attendees and work to activate them as long as it is within the limits of achieving the public interest. 
At the end, both the Dean and the Vice Dean of the Faculty offered words of thanks for the sincere efforts exerted by members of the faculty, wishing all further success and progress.

In the context of activating the role of scientific research in the field of upgrading the construction industry in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Institute of Building Materials Research and Quality Control at the National Center for Housing and Building Research is in the process of organizing the third international conference under the title:

Innovative Building Materials (IBM)

"Advances in Nuclear Power Plant Mixtures"

This will take place from 3-5 June 2022.

The conference main theme is innovative building materials. It also presents the recent research prepared by all universities and research centers on sustainable and environmentally friendly building materials and the recycling of building materials waste.

The conference allocates scientific research sessions and specialized lectures in the field of materials and concrete mixtures used in the construction of nuclear power plants, in line with the state's policy to start implementing those stations.

In line with Mansoura University’s celebrations of the golden jubilee, The Board of Directors of the National Authority for Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education approved on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, the accreditation of five programs at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, as the first programmatic accreditation in Egyptian universities.

Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, Chairman of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, announced the launch of the third season of the TV program “Cairo Innovates”.
It is a TV competition program among both Egyptian innovators and inventors of all age groups. The program highlights innovations and inventions that can be converted into innovative technological products.
The Academy invites all innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs and start-up technology companies to apply for the program no later than February 22, 2022. In culmination of the success achieved by the first and second seasons, the “Cairo Innovates” program comes this year in five categories: children category, youth category, researchers category, technicians category and category of emerging technology companies.

The Chairman of the Academy explained in a statement that the Academy will resume its efforts this year in the third season of the “Cairo Innovates” program, after a two-year hiatus due to the Corona pandemic. Furthermore, the Academy will provide material, technical and logistical support for innovators to compete for the title of “Egypt’s First Innovator” for the year 2022. The Academy will also adopt innovations based on a sound scientific basis which has an economic feasibility until it reaches a product through several mechanisms such as the Technology Incubators Program “Intelaq,” Business Accelerators 101, and the Innovation and Invention Development Authority, in addition to the financial awards that the Academy will provide to the winners through the program, which exceed one million Egyptian pounds.

A distinct positive step added to the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, where Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty discussed a memorandum of understanding with both Eng. Ahmed Greda, executive director and Eng. Khaled Hassan, deputy director for business development, Cadcamcim for Systems Company. This was in the presence of Eng. Ahmed Kamal, the faculty’s advisor for development and digital transformation, after that a cooperation protocol was signed between the Faculty of Engineering and Cadcamcim for Systems company.

Cadcamcim for Systems is an Egyptian company with a regional presence in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt, it provides engineering solutions services and applications of the fourth industrial revolution in the field of engineering design and manufacturing.
It is also the agent for the software-owned Dassault Systems Company and 3D XP SOLIDWORKS.

The cooperation protocol main aim is to serve the scientific research process, help students, and perform the faculty’s role entrusted to it towards the institutions of the external community.

As Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, is always keen to maximize the societal role of the Faculty of Engineering and to extend arms of cooperation and integration with the national institutions of the external community.

A cooperation protocol was signed on Thursday 20January, 2022, between both Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Eng. Khaled Nasr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Drinking Water and Sanitary Drainage Company in Dakahlia.

The protocol included cooperation and integration in several areas, the most important of which are : training, scientific research, scientific techniques and laboratories.
