The Faculty Council No. (564) met on Sunday, January 16, 2022 in the hall of Prof. Dr. Al-Saeed Ashour.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty chaired the council in the presence of: vice deans of the faculty, heads of departments, managers of specific programs, experts, and some officials of external community.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, dean of the faculty opened the session by congratulating distinguished faculty members for their promotion namely; Assistant Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al-Saeed for being promoted to the position of assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Hanafy for being promoted to the position of assistant professor in
the Department of Mathematics and Engineering Physics.
His Excellency spoke about the visit of the USAID delegation and the University of Arizona to discuss activating the Center of Excellence in Energy project at the Faculty of Engineering.
He talked about, Fantastic Engineers Team who won in the (Egg Protection Device Competition). Prof. Abdel Azim also talked about Momentum Team who won the competition marks for good make – a- ton.
His Excellency thanked those in charge of the Roads and Airports Engineering Laboratory for passing the professional aptitude test in the asphalt extraction experiment.
Prof. Abdel Azim congratulated Prof. Dr. Adel Al-Hadidi for publishing his book, “More about Technical Textiles” volume I.
His Excellency provided the attendees with a brief idea about quality visits, the academic accreditation for all previous visits and what has been recently done represented by a visit to the Production Engineering and Mechanical Design Program, the Spinning and Weaving Engineering Program, the Civil Engineering Program, and the Computer Engineering and Control Systems Program.
His Excellency mentioned what happened regarding the meeting of the administrative restructuring of the faculty. In addition he mentioned the medical symposium held at the faculty on “How to prevent oral and dental diseases”.
His Excellency noted that the Faculty of Engineering has received and welcomed several school trips in the recent period, in order to consolidate welcoming community participation, and given that the faculty of engineering has become a great edifice as a shrine to which attention is drawn to see the amazing developments that took place in it to revive the spirit of ambition and give hope for a better tomorrow.
Prof. Abdel Azim mentioned the new projects in progress, such as the wireless network systems lab, solar energy lab, heavy facilities lab, satellite lab, transportation and traffic engineering lab, water quality lab, integrated optics lab, mechanical vibration lab, and road engineering lab. Besides BIM lab, permanent architectural exhibition, standard models lab, drawing galleries, auxiliary authority rooms, microscopic imaging lab, development of the postgraduate administration office, surveying lab, and construction of the central student building.
His Excellency finished his speech with a poster expressing the recent achievements in the Faculty of Engineering. Then, He moved to discuss the topics on the agenda, with the distinguished members of the Faculty Council, and to take decisions regarding them.
