Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Hossam El Din Mostafa, chaired the “Humanities of Academic Advising” meeting, on Wednesday, June 2, 2022 in Prof. Magdy Abu Rayan Hall.
The meeting took place in the presence of faculty members, directors, deputies and supervisors of specific programs.
Both Prof. Dr. the Dean of the Faculty and Prof. Dr. the Coordinator of Specific Programs, lectured in the meeting, where they aimed to draw the attention of the attendees about what an academic advisor should have, what s/he is characterized by, what s/he takes towards students, what role s/he should play and how s/he should perform it .
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized in his lecture that the academic advisor always enlightens and reveals everything vague to the students, s/he represents a true mirror about the faculty that remains in the student’s memory, transfers his/her experience to his students and stands as an example for them to follow. It is always a vital link between the student and the faculty, so in order for this link to remain vital, the academic advisor must satisfy it with self-development, gain more skills, and most importantly carry out his mission with love, because love of work is the best kind of honesty, and honesty is the shortest way to persuasion, this is what we aim to for the lives and future of our students.
