Professor Dr. Sherif M. El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, and the vice deans on behalf of the Faculty of Engineering, extend their sincere congratulations and great appreciation on the occasion of renewing the accreditation of the Faculty of Engineering to the Quality Assurance Unit, the Strategic Planning Unit, heads of scientific departments and specific programs, directors of specific centers, unit directors, the Director General of the Faculty, the assisting staff, members of the administrative staff, and all employees of the Faculty of Engineering, for their outstanding effort and performance, and their effective and honorable contribution. The workshop was held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in the University Administration conference room, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Amira Yasin, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental development Affairs, organized and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Shawky, Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering, and lectured by Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Barambali.
The workshop was opened by Professor Dr. Mohamed Shawky,
then Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim welcomed the attendees, after that he referred to the importance of the symposium’s topic and explained the necessity of applying the codes for buildings and maintenance, as it has a positive impact on the aesthetic appearance and maintaining the life span of the building, as well as preserving public money.
Professor Dr. Hossam Al-Barambali clarified a number of important topics, namely: how to deal with buildings in general - whether public buildings or privately owned buildings- different methods of maintenance and the necessity for applying and developing a plan for each type, introduction to artificial intelligence and how to use it in maintenance, and different types of buildings and how to maintain them.
In the end, it was recommended to apply modern scientific methods in building maintenance, such as artificial intelligence, in addition to the role of artificial intelligence in managing and operating smart buildings.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and the organization of Dr. Mustafa Al-Bahloul, Director of the Scientific Research Support Unit, an introductory meeting was held on how to apply for the German-Egyptian Mobility Scholarship GE-SEED, presented by AP. Dr. Ahmed Metwally, Associate Professor, Department of Public Works Engineering, on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the unit’s headquarters in the Specific Programs Building, at one o’clock in the afternoon.
Dr. Ahmed reviewed some basic information about the scholarship based on his experience, having won it previously. He presented the conditions and rules for the scholarship, how to fill out the required data, the points that applicants should focus on to add weight to the application file, and the advantages that applicants will receive from the scholarship. He pointed out the basic challenges in the grant, such as agreeing with the German side on the research point and speeding up the completion of administrative work. He advised the attendees on how to overcome all obstacles based on his experience.
Dr. Ahmed Metwally thanked the attendees for their interest in the topic and urged them to communicate in case of any additional inquiries while preparing the application form.

The Faculty Council No. (591) was held on Monday, April 17, 2024, at ten o’clock in the morning in the Faculty Council meeting room, headed by Professor Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty, and in the presence of faculty vice deans, heads of scientific departments, and directors of specific programs.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, opened the session by congratulating the attendees on the auspicious occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.
-He offered his condolences to the distinguished members of the teaching staff and the administrative staff, whose relatives, may God have mercy on them, have passed away.
- He spoke about the faculty administration meeting that took place with the new teaching assistants and the advice and guidance that was provided.
- He praised the number and quality of seminars and workshops held at the faculty, which represent an important added value as a community service, including: “The Anxiety and Stress Management” seminar, “The Medical Awareness Campaign” that took place within the faculty, “The strategic skills for the Employee and the Leader within the Scope of Work” seminar, and the religious seminar held in the month of Ramadan by Sheikh “Salem Al-Hindawi” and the Holy Quran competition that took place.
- He urged the heads of civil engineering departments to attend the workshop entitled: “Principles and Concepts of Preservation and Maintenance of Buildings Using Modern Methods,” lectured by Prof. Dr. Hossam Al-Barmely, Professor of Architecture at Ain Shams Engineering, on Sunday 21/4/2024 at 10:30 a.m. in Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Rayan amphitheater, as well as attending the symposium “Experiments in Preserving and rehabilitating some heritage buildings in Heliopolis,” lectured by Prof. Dr. Dalila Al-Kardani, Professor of Architecture at Cairo Engineering, on 28/4/2024 at 12:00 in Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Rayyan’s hall.
-He referred to the tremendous effort made towards receiving school trips, especially STEM schools.
-He praised student (Mohamed Mahmoud Hamed), preparatory year, who received an invitation to participate in South Africa Conference at YALE University.
-He noted that the faculty won the general shield of Ramadan Festival at the level of the university’s faculties.
-He mentioned honoring the ALAMPO team of students from the Department of Power Mechanics, and honoring a number of Power Mechanics Department students who passed the training in the central air conditioning program.
-He praised the achievements of Mansoura University according to the QS classification of academic specializations 2024, to which the Faculty of Engineering contributed greatly.
- He briefed the attendees about the activities that took place during the month of Ramadan, such as preparing Iftar for a number of departments, as well as holding the Ramadan tournament.
- He explained the annual citation factors of the journal, indicating the total number of each research paper and the number of downloads.
Finally, He moved on to discuss topics on the agenda and make decisions regarding them with members of the esteemed council.

The Faculty of Engineering organized a workshop on “Cyber Security” under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, dean of the faculty, supervised by: Prof. Dr. Amira Yasin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Mohamed Moawad Head of the Computer and Systems Engineering Department. Delivered by Eng. Mohamed Fathi El-Sherbiny, a network and systems engineer, CCNA, and cyber security trainer at the National Training Institute (NTI), on Sunday, April 28, 2024, in Prof. Dr. Al-Saeed Ashour Conference Hall, at exactly twelve o’clock in the afternoon.
The workshop dealt with clarifying a number of topics, the most important of which are:
⁃ cyber security has become one of the most important topics facing all societies, whether at the level of individuals, institutions, or countries, and that all countries use the latest technologies to maintain the penetration of their electronic data.
⁃ The most important cyber security courses.
⁃ The necessity of developing knowledge and experience in the field of cybersecurity.
⁃ Job opportunities available in cyber security.
Finally, the door to discussion was opened.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, a workshop was held on strategic management, provided by AP. Dr. Mahmoud Abu Al-Majd, Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Commerce, and in the presence of a large number of members of the administrative staff, in the hall of Prof. Dr. Al-Saeed Ashour at exactly ten thirty o’clock in the morning, the workshop clarified a number of basic concepts such as: the meaning of strategic management, how to balance time and work priorities to be performed, how to arrange work priorities, and the difference between the faculty’s vision and mission, the meaning of the work environment, how to set goals and develop strategies to achieve these goals.
