A Report on the Freshman Orientation Day

The Faculty of Engineering received today, Wednesday, September 25, in Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Ryan amphitheater, new students and their families, where they were received by Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, interim Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky Qaddah, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, a number of faculty members and the Student Care Department. The day began with playing the national anthem, then the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, after that an introductory video about the faculty was played followed by a speech by Prof. El- Badawy, in which he welcomed the students and their families, expressing deep gratitude for their hard efforts, their determination and insistence to achieve the students’ excellence and enrollment in the Faculty of Engineering. During his speech, he explained what academic life is like within the university in general and within the faculty of engineering in particular. He talked about various scientific departments and quality programs found in the faculty. He explained the different student activities that can be practiced during the study period through the Student Care Unit, and how to create a spirit of cooperation, integration and acquaintance among freshman and old students. He also stressed the importance of continuous work to support his students and communicate with them through several channels such as meetings and personal guidance. The student meeting was concluded with a short theatrical sketch lasting 10 minutes. At the end of the meeting, the students and their families expressed their satisfaction and admiration for the surrounding atmosphere, which made them eager and excited to start studying and integrating with their faculty.
