Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, and with the participation of Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedqi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs. The Faculty of Engineering hosted a campaign to combat and treat smoking and addiction, where the campaign team presented several awareness seminars and distributed posters to students through a number of stands. The posters explained how to avoid entering the stage of smoking or addiction and how to follow the safe treatment channels that the state provides for free and which are characterized by privacy and complete confidentiality.
These instructions were presented by Dr. Sahar Abdel Aziz Al-Dakrouri, Professor of Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine and Head of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse at Mansoura University, and Mr. Bilal Shaaban, General Supervisor of the Fund’s Preventive Programs in Dakahlia.

Under the patronage and support of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, a symposium was organized on “Services Provided to Empower People of Disabilities and how to Support Integration within the University.”, today, Monday, October 2, 2023, in Prof. Dr. Rashad Al-Badrawi Conference Hall. Dr. Nevin Abdel Khaleq, Director of the Center for Services for Persons with Disabilities at the University, and Dr. Sarah Zidan, Deputy Director of the Center provided the attendees with highly informative and engaging session about services of the center, this was in the presence of a number of faculty members, the administrative staff, students, and Mr. Mohamed Al-Sayed, centre’s coordinator at the faculty.
The symposium activities revolved around clarifying a number of topics, the most important of which are: introducing the services provided for persons with disabilities at the university, what is the meaning of the term “disabled”, how to integrate persons with disabilities into society and how society deals with them, how to challenge and have the will to achieve successes for them, and the preference of using the term “differently capable.” What are the principles of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, a simplified explanation of the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and what services and initiatives are provided to them, the executive regulations of the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities were also clarified, what is the vision and mission of the Center, the formation of the Center’s Board of Directors, in addition to the challenges facing people of determination, and how to contact the center.

The faculty council No. (585) was held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at ten o’clock in the morning in Prof. Dr. Rashad Al-Badrawi Conference Hall, where the council was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the faculty, and in the presence of faculty vice deans, heads of departments, a number of faculty members, directors of specific programs, and representatives of some external community institutions.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the faculty opened the session by welcoming the attendees, sending them his best wishes on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday and the fiftieth anniversary of the great October victories.
-His Excellency offered his condolences on the death of Prof. Dr. Berg Ohnes, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Prof. Ashraf Abdel Zaher, Head of the Public Affairs Department.
- His Excellency congratulated faculty members who were promoted, those who were appointed program directors, and those who were appointed heads of scientific departments.
- His Excellency spoke about some of the events that took place recently, such as the National Defense Course, the Crises and Disasters Course, the reception ceremony for new students, the meeting with members of the administrative staff, holding a workshop for people with special needs, the Triple Foot tournament, and combating addiction and smoking campaign that took place in the faculty.
-His Excellency clarified some topics, such as: conditions for occupying the position of director, the position of the Architecture Department Committee, departmental databases, and the Government Excellence Award.
- His Excellency spoke about the faculty’s position regarding quality, and readiness to renew its accreditation.
- His Excellency mentioned the names of the faculty members who were appointed directors of some units in the faculty.
-His Excellency spoke about the magazine’s annual citation proceedings, and a summary of the projects being implemented, some of which are nearing completion.
- His Excellency also praised the giant student building, which receives his constant follow-up and attention.
Finally, His Excellency moved on to discuss topics on the agenda and make decisions regarding them with the members of the esteemed faculty council.

Announcement regarding offering free scholarships to top students graduating from outstanding schools in science and technology (STEM) based on the decision of the Supreme Council of Universities. The conditions for the scholarship are as follows:
⁃ The scholarship is for a full academic year (first semester, second semester).
⁃ Complete exemption from all tuition fees except registration fees and administrative fees.
⁃ The scholarship remains valid if the student obtains a cumulative grade point average (3.7) or more at the end of the second semester.
⁃ If the student in the second semester does not obtain the required cumulative GPA (3.7) and registers for the summer semester at his own expense and obtains the required GPA (3.7), the scholarship will remain valid.
⁃ The scholarship continues to be valid automatically at the beginning of the next academic year, provided that the cumulative GPA continues to be maintained (3.7).

Today, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, received the new faculty students for the academic year 2023/2024, at exactly eleven o’clock in the morning in Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Rayyan Conference Hall, with the participation of Professor Dr. Sahar Sedqi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs.
Prof. Abdelazim began the meeting by welcoming his new students. His Excellency also urged them to acquire many skills and field training within factories and companies that the faculty provides to its students in order to bridge the gap between academic study and practical application in order to harmonize the needs of the labor market. New students have been informed about the faculty’s departments and programs, as well as existing student activities in the faculty, motivating his students to participate in these activities to develop their abilities and talents.
