Today, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, received the new faculty students for the academic year 2023/2024, at exactly eleven o’clock in the morning in Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Rayyan Conference Hall, with the participation of Professor Dr. Sahar Sedqi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs.
Prof. Abdelazim began the meeting by welcoming his new students. His Excellency also urged them to acquire many skills and field training within factories and companies that the faculty provides to its students in order to bridge the gap between academic study and practical application in order to harmonize the needs of the labor market. New students have been informed about the faculty’s departments and programs, as well as existing student activities in the faculty, motivating his students to participate in these activities to develop their abilities and talents.

Faculty Council No. (584) was held on Monday, September 11, 2023 at ten o’clock in the morning in Prof. Dr. Rashad El Badrawy Conference Hall, the Council was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty, and in the presence of the Vice Deans, heads of scientific departments, members of the teaching staff, directors of specific programs, and representatives of some institutions of the external community.
The session was opened by Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, his Excellency started the meeting by welcoming attendees, and the new members of the Faculty Council in its current session held for the academic year 2023/2024, wishing them success and excellence in completing the steps of the previous faculty council which has all appreciation, respect and merit with abundant thanks. His Excellency stressed that, The Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, has become a great entity with its great sons, the diversity of their experiences, their efforts, their scientific and research competence, and their societal contributions towards the institutions of the external community, especially towards national projects. He also confirmed that the Faculty of Engineering always supports its employees as long as this serves the public interest.

⁃ offered words of condolences on the death of Mr. / Youssef Kishk, the faculty driver, Mr. / Muhammad Shaaban and his wife, Mr. / Muhammad Ali Abdel Salam.
⁃ extended good wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery to: Dr. Muhammad Sabry Saraya, the student Muhammad Al-Zumar at the Faculty of Fine Arts, and the student Amira at the Faculty of Arts.
⁃ presented the organization of the Faculty Council at its current session.
⁃ congratulated Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Badran, Dean of Mansoura Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. Eid Abdel-Baqi, Dean of the Higher Future Institute of Engineering and Technology. He also honored Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Qirani for his efforts in developing and modernizing one of the laboratory devices that he supervises.
⁃ praised a number of events that took place in the faculty during the past days, which are considered a source of pride and bright points in the faculty’s record of events, and even in documenting its great and rich history, such as: the graduation ceremony of the golden batch, the competition for the best member of the assisting staff, the award of Arab government excellence, the second army praise for the industrial zone in the city of Gamasa, and the “Draw Your Future” initiative, which was undertaken by a number of faculty students voluntarily to teach village children how to approach sound thinking and teach them the art of drawing to develop their knowledge of good taste.
⁃ praised the awards achieved by the faculty during the past days, where the BAS team won the medical engineering in the YLF Leader League4 competition, the Maxel team won second place at the level of Egypt in EGYPT IOT and AI competition, and the graduation project of the Department of Computer Engineering and Control Systems which wins for the year 2022/ 2023, and the ALAMPO team wins Egypt Entrepreneurship Rally Competition.
⁃ thanked the Techno Kids team, headed by Prof. Dr. Abeer Tawakul, for the valuable information and practical training they provided in the children’s course at the Nile Club and at Gezeret Elward Club.
⁃ mentioned honoring Prof. Dr. Tamer Abu Al-Saad, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Postgraduate Studies.
⁃ presented statistics on the numbers of the teaching staff, assignments, vacations for faculty members to accompany a husband / wife, the number of students for the academic year 2023/2024 in scientific departments and specific programs, the value of teaching hours for the academic year 2023/2024, salaries, directors and heads of specific programs, with emphasis on the fact that the salary for both dean of the faculty and all vice deans is stable with no increase. He praised the positive surge in the annual citation of the scientific journal.
⁃ briefed the esteemed members about the ongoing development in the faculty during the coming period, such as: developing laboratories, developing offices of faculty members / administrative staff, developing and qualifying cadres, developing student activities, developing the library and digital library, developing information infrastructure, developing social relations, developing interdisciplinary -programs in higher and bachelor's degrees.
⁃ honored the winning teams in the students’ Competitions, winners in the best assisting staff member competition, and the son of Hajj Yusuf Kishk, may God have mercy on him, was also honored.
Then, His Excellency moved to discuss the topics on the agenda and take decisions regarding them with the members of the esteemed Faculty Council.

Under the patronage and support of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, a symposium was organized on “Services Provided to Empower People of Disabilities and how to Support Integration within the University.”, today, Monday, October 2, 2023, in Prof. Dr. Rashad Al-Badrawi Conference Hall. Dr. Nevin Abdel Khaleq, Director of the Center for Services for Persons with Disabilities at the University, and Dr. Sarah Zidan, Deputy Director of the Center provided the attendees with highly informative and engaging session about services of the center, this was in the presence of a number of faculty members, the administrative staff, students, and Mr. Mohamed Al-Sayed, centre’s coordinator at the faculty.
The symposium activities revolved around clarifying a number of topics, the most important of which are: introducing the services provided for persons with disabilities at the university, what is the meaning of the term “disabled”, how to integrate persons with disabilities into society and how society deals with them, how to challenge and have the will to achieve successes for them, and the preference of using the term “differently capable.” What are the principles of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, a simplified explanation of the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and what services and initiatives are provided to them, the executive regulations of the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities were also clarified, what is the vision and mission of the Center, the formation of the Center’s Board of Directors, in addition to the challenges facing people of determination, and how to contact the center.

• High academic progress toward completion of degree requirements. A scholarship recipient is required to maintain a minimum of 2.5 GPA throughout the course of study. Failure to maintain the required GPA will result in losing their place on the scholarship program.
• The scholarship program is designed to help students complete their degree requirements within the specific number of semesters for their selected major.
• The Scholarship covers Fall and Spring semesters only.
• Maintaining an acceptable level of attendance in all classes and receiving no disciplinary warnings is a must.
