Report on the Activities of Resala Association Seminar

Within the framework of the Faculty of Engineering’s commitment to enhancing its community role and raising awareness among students and youth, and in cooperation with Resala Association, a wide-ranging educational seminar was held on Wednesday, July 6, 2025. The seminar targeted the age group of students between 13 and 20 years old. It was organized by Prof. Dr. Amira Yassen Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty. The event witnessed a large attendance of male and female students from various educational stages.

Objectives of the seminar:
• Educate youth in the pre-university stage about methods of scientific research and innovative thinking.
• Introduce them to how ideas can be transformed into viable projects.
• Guide them on available ways to obtain funding and support for their projects.
• Build awareness of the importance of community work and the role of charitable and educational institutions in supporting youth.
• Encourage the spirit of initiative and innovation among attendees.
The seminar covered a variety of important topics presented by a group of young entrepreneurs, including:
• Basics of scientific research, how to choose a research topic, steps for preparing academic research, skills for collecting and analyzing information, innovative projects and patents, what a patent is and how to apply for one, funding and project support, available funding sources, and how to prepare a project work plan.
• Presentation of successful models of community projects led by youth.
• Explanation of some skills such as presentation and persuasion skills, effective communication, time management, and teamwork.
• A brief introduction to the activities of Resala Association.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Prof. Amira Yassen Heikal expressed her thanks to the working team and all the students present, wishing for such events to be held regularly in various faculties.
