Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of the University, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azeem, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, an influential awareness campaign titled “Combating and Treating Addiction and Substance Abuse” has been held. The campaign was supervised by Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and organized by Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. Distinguished Experts Lead the Campaign.

Awareness Activities and Key Messages:
Held at the Faculty of Engineering, the campaign featured presentations by Dr. Sahar El-Dekrory and Dr. Belal Shaaban, introducing students to the meaning of addiction, its types, and its most significant health, psychological, and social effects. The speakers cautioned about the misuse of medications, stimulants, energy drinks, nutritional supplements, and male hormones popular in gym settings.
Official treatment channels endorsed by the Fund for Combating Addiction were highlighted, and the organizers emphasized the national addiction treatment hotline (16023). The speakers encouraged participation in sports as a positive pathway for prevention.
Addressing New Risks and Social Impacts
The event included discussion of the dangers posed by passive smoking and e-cigarettes, the broad social consequences of addiction, and the peer and societal factors influencing young people. The campaign promoted proactive community awareness to safeguard youth against addiction risks.

The campaign concluded with enthusiastic student participation, reinforcing the University’s continued commitment to supporting initiatives that build a health-conscious, resilient generation. ✨ The meeting of the Board of Directors of the Quality Assurance Unit was held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in its new formation, at the invitation of Prof. Sherif Massoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the Unit’s Board of Directors, with the attendance of the board members. The meeting took place at 2:00 p.m. in the Technical Office of the Quality Assurance Unit.
The Dean opened the meeting by welcoming the board members and emphasizing the important role played by the unit in supporting the development process and enhancing academic and administrative performance within the Faculty.
Following this, Prof. Riham Mohsen Ezz El-Din, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, presented a comprehensive overview of the items on the meeting agenda, which were discussed with the members in an atmosphere of transparency and constructive cooperation.
✨ At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean affirmed the Faculty Administration’s commitment to providing the necessary support to the Quality Assurance Unit. He also instructed that the board’s recommendations be followed up and that improvement programs be implemented to positively reflect on the academic and administrative performance within the Faculty.

On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, comprehensive environmental measurements, inspections, and the required testing were carried out for the boiler station at the University Children’s Hospital. These efforts included the preparation of the annual efficiency reports and the execution of environmental assessments, all undertaken by the specialized teams from the Mechanical Power Engineering Laboratory and the Environmental Measurements Laboratory at the Faculty.
This initiative is part of the Faculty’s broader strategy to bolster its contribution to the university by providing technical consultations and support to vital campus facilities, ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency across university services.

The meeting was attended by the coordinators of the specific programs seeking international accreditation and was held at 11:00 a.m. at the Technical Office of the Quality Assurance Unit.
The meeting opened with welcoming remarks from the Dean, who stressed the importance of finalizing the preparations of the specific programs in order to proceed with the application for ABET accreditation. It comes as part of a series of regular meetings to follow up on the ongoing preparations and to complete the documents and files required for the ABET international accreditation process.
This joint effort aims to support the quality of the educational process and enhance the efficiency of the academic programs offered by the faculty.

In line with the “Rowad El Nile” initiative organized by the Central Bank of Egypt, the Faculty of Engineering at Mansoura University hosted an awareness seminar entitled “Entrepreneurship and How to Develop a New Business Idea.” The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim Mohamed, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. The seminar was supervised by Prof. Dr. Sherif Massoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and organized by Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
The seminar was coordinated by Dr. Samah Talaat Abou Zeid, Lecturer of Child Mental Health at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education and member of the Community Awareness Committee, with a lecture delivered by Ms. Amira El Sherbiny, Business Development Specialist at the Business Development Center, National Bank of Egypt, Mansoura Branch.
Held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the seminar provided a comprehensive overview for students on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and the steps necessary to establish small businesses. Key topics included: the concept of banking and the range of non-financial services provided by banks, the distinction between business owners and entrepreneurs, the definition and societal importance of entrepreneurship, steps for evaluating and selecting a project idea, identifying target customers and distinguishing between needs and wants, using brainstorming to identify societal problems, determining the challenges faced by target customers, and methods for matching business ideas to real-world problems through interactive dialogue.
Attendees were also introduced to practical approaches for preparing business plans and business models, with explanations of the differences between them. The essential components of a business model were clarified, including the value proposition, customer segments, communication channels, customer relationships, key partners, key activities, main resources, cost structure, and revenue sources.
The seminar included a practical exercise using a proposed student project idea, followed by an open discussion on anticipated challenges and strategies for overcoming them.
The session concluded with an introduction to the services provided by the Business Development Centers at the National Bank of Egypt, as part of the “Rowad El Nile” initiative, highlighting the support available to entrepreneurs in the form of training, consulting, and financing opportunities.

Under the patronage of Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater, President of the University, and the leadership of Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the Faculty of Engineering welcomed a scientific field trip from El-Senbellawein Distinguished Language School on Monday, November 24, 2025.
The event was held under the supervision of Prof. Sherif Massoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, and organized by Prof. Amira Yassin Hekal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. The visit aimed to enhance community awareness of the various engineering disciplines and support pre-university students.
Prof. Amira Y. Hekal welcomed the students and gave them an overview of the academic departments and specific programs offered by the faculty, along with the admission process and scholarships available for outstanding students. She also delivered a lecture on the importance of artificial intelligence in engineering and other fields, introducing the fundamental concepts behind the emergence and growing importance of this discipline.
