Report on the Inauguration of Huawei Cloud Club at the Faculty of Engineering – Mansoura University
As part of the Faculty of Engineering – Mansoura University’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with leading global institutions in technology and digital transformation, the Faculty, in collaboration with Huawei – Cloud Developers Ecosystem team in Egypt, organized the inauguration ceremony of the Huawei Cloud Club on Monday, August 11, 2025. The event took place in Prof. Rashad El-Badrawy Hall, under the patronage and participation of Prof. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, along with the Vice Deans. The event was organized by Assoc. Prof. Abeer Tawakkol, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Program and Huawei Academy at the Faculty, and Assoc. Prof. Mahmoud Saafan, Deputy Executive Director of the “Entilaq” initiative at the university. It was also attended by a number of heads of academic departments, directors and deputies of specific programs, and students from different departments and programs.
This collaboration underlines the university’s dedication to supporting digital innovation and developing students’ skills in cloud technologies, providing a nurturing environment for developers and entrepreneurs.
The event aimed to:
1. Assist developers in enhancing their technical skills and practical capabilities.
2. Build a strong ecosystem supporting technological innovation in universities and the local community.
3. Launch joint activities and initiatives between the Faculty and Huawei to support digital transformation.
4. Encourage students to participate in local and international developer competitions.
During the event:
• The Huawei Cloud Club was officially launched, including a ceremony for unveiling the logo and raising the flag.
• An academic cooperation agreement was reached to develop joint courses between Mansoura University and Huawei.
• Policies supporting developers and startups within Huawei’s cloud ecosystem were introduced.
• It was agreed that Huawei ambassadors will be selected from the Faculty of Engineering’s students.
