 Student Activities

The college administration proudly congratulates the ENGnear student team for winning first place in the Spaghetti Bridge competition, held as part of the activities of the Third Forum of the Faculty of Engineering – Mansoura University of Science and Technology. This honorable achievement is the result of sincere effort, outstanding teamwork spirit, and high innovative capabilities. It brightly reflects the scientific and practical abilities of our college students, their excellence and distinction in various forums, and reinforces the confidence of the college administration and faculty members in their students.

It is worth mentioning that more than 10 student teams participated in the competition, where the challenge was to design a bridge using fragile spaghetti sticks, with a weight not exceeding 1800 grams. The ENGnear team managed to create a design weighing only 1500 grams, capable of supporting 59 kilograms. With this victory, ENGnear became the only team to win first place on behalf of Mansoura University in all competitions, confirming their excellence in engineering design and teamwork.

This achievement is not merely a culmination of their efforts but a true testament to the scientific and practical excellence of the Faculty of Engineering students and their ability to face challenges and achieve success.

 Student Activities

 In support of student innovation and the encouragement of teamwork and competitive spirit, the Faculty of Engineering at Mansoura University organized a ceremony on Saturday, May 3, 2025, to honor the winning student teams in the first edition of the Plaza Competition. The competition was organized by the Starks MU team under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Mahmoud Mohamed Saafan, and was attended by Prof. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty.

The competition witnessed a large turnout of students, with more than 60 student teams participating, representing universities from across the country, including:
Mansoura University, Mansoura National University, New Mansoura University, Damietta University, Tanta University, Zagazig University, and Zagazig Private University.

Participating teams competed to present innovative technical projects that combined practical creativity with engineering thinking. The submitted works reflected the students' outstanding technical and artistic skills.

The results of the competition resulted in the victory of the following teams:

First place: Mechastorm team – cash prize of 10,000 pounds
Second place: Techno Titans team – cash prize of 5,000 pounds
Third place: Robox team – cash prize of 3,000 pounds
Best Mechanical Design Award: OCbotics Team – Cash prize of 2,000 pounds
The ceremony also honored the teams that reached the final stages, along with the members of the judging panel, which included a number of specialized engineers and experts, including:
Eng. Abdel Rahman Ibrahim, Eng. Mohamed Abdel Aal, Eng. Mahmoud Alaa, Eng. Omar Khaled, Eng. Ahmed Bilal, Eng. Ahmed Shahib, Eng. Ziad El-Damaty, in appreciation of their efforts in evaluating and judging the projects with objectivity and professionalism.

The Dean also honored a number of college leaders in appreciation of their role in supporting student activities. They are:

Prof. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the faculty, praised the efforts of the Starks MU team members for their outstanding work, which contributed to the success of the competition and its excellent organization.

In his speech at the ceremony, Professor Sherif El-Badawy expressed his pride in the outstanding level of the participants, noting that this competition represents the beginning of a series of annual competitions covering various fields of specialization, with the goal of creating an environment conducive to innovation and critical thinking, thus contributing to the preparation of engineering cadres capable of keeping pace with the demands of the labor.

 On Monday, May 19, 2025, at 9:00 AM, Prof. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, held a meeting with the members of the administrative staff. The meeting took place in the Prof. Rashad El-Badrawy Hall for Meetings. Present were Prof. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Nasser El-Badawihi, General Director of the Faculty.

Prof. El-Badawy began the meeting by welcoming all attendees and expressing his appreciation for the role of the administrative staff in supporting the educational and administrative processes within the faculty. He thanked them for their congratulations on his appointment as Dean, praising their kind sentiments and continuous support.

During his speech, the Dean emphasized the importance of joint efforts and fostering a spirit of cooperation among all employees to raise the overall performance level of the faculty. He stressed that the administrative staff is one of the fundamental pillars for achieving the faculty’s success and progress.

He also highlighted the necessity of treating students very well, affirming that this is one of the basic rights of students in an educational institution. Good treatment reflects positively on the faculty’s image and enhances its standing. Regarding preparations for the examination period, the Dean stressed the importance of full attendance by employees and the diligent performance of monitoring and discipline duties during this time to ensure the exams proceed efficiently and orderly.

Furthermore, he announced the formation of a specialized committee to evaluate the performance of employees with the aim of identifying those deserving of rewards based on their efforts. He clarified that rewards will be given to hardworking employees who demonstrate clear commitment and excellence in their duties, and that there will be a clear distinction between those who work diligently and those who neglect their responsibilities.

In conclusion, the Dean expressed his confidence in the competence of the administrative staff, wishing them continued success, and affirmed that the upcoming phase requires more hard work and constructive cooperation.

 The Supreme Council of Universities has launched the second edition of the Egyptian Survey of Student Engagement (ESSE), targeting final-year students for the 2024/2025 academic year. The survey aims to measure the quality of educational services at Egyptian universities.

 The 604th meeting of the faculty council was held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Faculty Council Meeting Hall. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, and attended by the vice deans, heads of scientific departments, directors of specific programs, faculty members, and representatives from external companies as community partners.

- He expressed his sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to the political leadership for appointing him as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University. He also thanked the Faculty Council members, staff members and administrative staff for their congratulations on his appointment.

- He offered congratulations on the upcoming Eid ul-Adha holiday.

- He congratulated Dr. Mohamed Rabie, Mechanical Engineering Department on publishing a scientific paper derived from the 2024 student project batch in a specialized international journal.
- He praised the programming competition for preparatory year students organized by the Computer and Control Engineering Department.
- He provided details on the annual citation metrics of the faculty journal, including total research papers published and total downloads.

Honors and Recognitions
- Prof. El-Badawy honored student/ Mustafa Nasser from the fourth year of the Production Engineering Department for his contribution to achieving a new milestone for Mansoura University in Silicon Valley. The ceremony was attended by:

Following these remarks, Prof. El-Badawy proceeded to discuss the agenda items and decisions with the esteemed members of the College Council.

 The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announces that the National Future Technologies Award "Challenge" has opened applications for the Discovery Prize. This award is dedicated to foreign scientists - not residing in the Russian Federation - who have made a significant discovery that has influenced the development of global science and technology. In a remarkable achievement added to the proud record of Mansoura University, student Mostafa Nasser from the Faculty of Engineering represented the university at the Startup Grind Global Conference 2025 held in San Francisco, USA, from April 26 to May 7, after his startup company Dignotix won the qualifying competition for global participation!
🚀 During the trip, Mostafa visited 12 of the world’s leading business ventures, including the headquarters of Google and Stanford University, where he explored the latest innovations in deep technology (Deep Tech).
