The administration of the Faculty of Engineering extends its deep congratulations and appreciation to its team that achieved great success in the Huawei ICT Regional Competition, which was recently held in Tunisia. In this competition, our team competed with 30 teams from 9 countries in North
Team members are: student Amir Muhammad Shtayyeh, who specializes in mechatronics engineering, student Omar Akram, and engineer Mahmoud Hamam, won the grand prize and first place in the field of cloud services.
We also congratulate the team that achieved second place in the field of cloud computing, which included: student, Ahmed Muhammad Al-Sharqawi from the Department of Computer Engineering and Control Systems, student Youssef Mahmoud Al-Kashef, and the student Amira Ahmed Ibrahim.
This achievement reflects the efforts of our students and the support and scientific environment that the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, provides to its students. We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Abeer Tawakkol, Director of the Huawei Academy at the Faculty of Engineering, for her unlimited support and valuable efforts that had a great impact in achieving this success.

Today, Thursday, March 7, 2024, the “You Are Stronger Than Drugs” initiative took place in cooperation with the Prime Minister’s Addiction Treatment and Abuse Fund, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Amira Yasin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
Where Mr. Bilal Shaaban, General Supervisor of Preventive Programs in Dakahlia Governorate, and the awareness campaign work team carried out the awareness process in the session halls, and work space in the faculty building, the specific programs building, the faculty cafeteria, and many other places, the awareness campaign was carried out through the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund with the aim of raising awareness of the dangers of drugs and to clarify the law of dismissal of an employee who is an abuser, it was also pointed out that different methods of addiction treatment should be followed, and the number for free addiction treatment was determined through the hotline number 16023, which is completely confidential.

The Faculty of Engineering organized a workshop on “Skills for Writing a CV and Key Aspects to Present Yourself in Personal Interviews”, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El- Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amira Yasin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Doaa Samir, Head of the Alumni Association Committee at Mansoura University and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels for Community Service and Environmental Development, and organized by Assistant Lecturer Abdel Rahman Omar, Director of the Alumni Unit, Faculty of Engineering and coordinator of the University’s Alumni Association Committee, on Monday, March 4, 2024, in Prof. Dr. Al-Saeed Ashour Hall at ten o’clock in the morning.
The workshop was delivered by Hani Abdel Razek, training consultant, Dr. Mohamed Mustafa, director of the student projects unit at the faculty and in the presence of AP. Dr. Mohamed Galal, rapporteur of the university’s Alumni Association Committee, Prof. Osama Hassan, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and a large number of faculty students from Specific programs and scientific departments.
The workshop main aim was to equip attendees with the basics of writing a CV, and how to avoid behavioral errors during a personal interview, in order to assist in acceptance and obtain a job opportunity for applicants for a specific position.
Several topics were clarified during the workshop, the most important of which are: the different parts of a CV, priorities for writing them, how to present the different parts of the CV in a way that highlights the skills and excellence of the applicant for the job, and preparing for the personal interview, such as paying attention to smart appearance and good manners. Balanced behavior during the interview, which provides a positive impression of the applicant for the position, the necessity of the research process and gathering information about the company to which the applicant is applying, before the personal interview.
At the end of the workshop, the door was opened for discussion, where the faculty students raised some questions and inquiries which were answered with the necessary clarifications. All attendees praised the highly informative workshop, which provided them with information and skills needed in writing a CV and passing personal interviews.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and the organization of Dr. Mustafa Al-Bahloul, Director of the Scientific Research Support Unit, a workshop on how to write a research paper took place on Sunday, March 3, 2024, presented by AP. Dr. Mohamed Jar Al-Alam, Department of Public Works Engineering, at Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Rayyan’s amphitheater (College Theater), at two in the afternoon.
A large number of faculty members, assisting staff and faculty graduate students, attended the workshop. They interacted positively with the lecturer on various topics, as the meeting lasted for more than two hours.
The lecturer presented some basic information about evaluation criteria for researchers, procedures to look for appropriate scientific journals, then explained in detail the basic elements of the research paper such as the title, abstract, introduction, methodology, results, and references. Dr. Mohamed used carious practical examples during the lecture, which enriched the discussion and increased its effectiveness.
The lecture ended with Dr. Muhammad Jar Al-Alam thanking the attendees for their interest in the topic and urging them to write well to increase the chances of publishing.

Within the framework of the societal role played by the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, towards pre-university education institutions, and after the approval of Professor Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the faculty received on Monday, March 4, 2024, a school trip from Mansoura Distinguished Language School 2, where they were received by engineer Ali Heneidi, assistant lecturer in the Department of Computer and Systems Engineering. During the scientific trip, a number of laboratories, halls, workshops, library, faculty departments and programs were visited. During the students’ trip, Professor Dr. Amira Yasin Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs provided the students with useful information in which she clarified the nature of study in the faculty of engineering and what departments and programs are there. She also charged them with positive motivations to instill the spirit of ambition and urged them to persist in achieving their goals and what they hope for in a future that fulfills their ambitions.

Today, Monday, March 4, 2024, in the Faculty Council Hall, the Faculty of Engineering organized an ISO training program for a number of faculty members, the supporting staff, and the administrative staff on Business Continuity Management Systems, ISO 22301:2019, where Dr. Tariq Shalaby, a consultant for Millennium provided the attendees with information about the concept. Hazards that may occur in the work environment, how to recover from sudden accidents during work time, and how to continue working efficiently during unexpected events.
