Faculty Council No. (596) was held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at exactly ten o'clock in the morning in the Faculty Council meeting hall, headed by Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty and attended by: Faculty Vice Deans, Heads of Academic Departments, Directors of Specific Programs, a number of experienced emeritus faculty members, and a number of officials from external community institutions.
Prof. El-Badawy, opened the session by welcoming all the attendees, members of the faculty council, congratulating them on the occasion of the new academic year 2024/2025, wishing everyone success.
- He welcomed the participation of a number of external community officials in the membership of the Faculty Council, namely: Eng. Khaled Nasr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dakahlia Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, and Eng. Mohamed Mokhtar Ibrahim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pipe Arab Control System Company
- He congratulated all attendees on the occasion of the Prophet's Birthday.
- He offered words of condolence on the death of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sultan, Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Mr. Ihab Al-Khadri, son of Mr. Sabry Al-Khadri, former employee.
- He congratulated all the faculty members who were promoted, namely: Prof. Ahmed Abdel Salam,
Assoc. Prof. Osama Mohamed Hamed, Assoc. Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Tawfik, Assoc. Prof. Hanan Amer.
- He thanked Prof. Dr. Ayman Al-Tahrani for what he accomplished during his tenure as Director of the Technical, Laboratory and Scientific Services Center.
-He also encouraged Dr. Mahmoud Saad, who assumed the position of Director of the Services Center.
- He congratulated Prof. Dr. Mohamed Attia, Director of the Center for Studies, Research and Engineering Consultations, and Dr. Mohamed Hussein Al-Shafei, lecturer in the Department of Production Engineering and Mechanical Design, for receiving a research project funded by the Center of Excellence in Energy from the University of Arizona.
- He praised the activities of the second day of the free summer training camp for innovative entrepreneurship, which was held with the active participation of Assoc. Prof. Abeer Twakol, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Program.
- He mentioned the tangible activities carried out by Prof.Dr. Mohamed Shawky, Head of the Department of Architecture and Director of the Sustainable Architecture Engineering Program.
- He briefed the attendees on what was done during the visit of the delegation of the best environmentally friendly university.
- He praised the efforts done by Dr. Mostafa El-Bahloul, especially the introductory meeting on publishing tools, the activities of the online workshop and the services provided by the Research Support Unit.
- He commended the graduation of the first batch of technical education students specialized in "Medical Equipment Maintenance", furthermore he extended his sincere thanks to all the contributors to this important event, especially Prof.Dr. Nisreen Omar, the Egyptian Parliament member.
- He mentioned the seminars that were held on the IWATER project, which were held in, the Faculty of Engineering, the Engineers Syndicate in Dakahlia, and the Dakahlia Drinking Water and Sanitation Company.
- He pointed out that the application for the CIF International Fellowship Program at Arizona State University is open for faculty members.
- He presented what has been done in terms of afforestation, adding green spaces, and taking care of the green area in the faculty, as it has a relaxing psychological effect and an aesthetic view for faculty members.
- He displayed pictures showing the faculty mosque after renovation.
- He spoke about the activities of the visit of the Energy Excellence Delegation that took place on Tuesday, 6/9/2024.
- He mentioed that the summer semester in the programs, graduate studies and the incomplete exams of undergraduate students have been finished, he furthermore confirmed that in preparation for the new academic year 2024/2025, a reception ceremony will be held for new students before the first week of study.
- Finally, Prof. El-Badawy with the participation of Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Haikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, honored Prof. Dr. Ayman Al-Tahrani for his tenure as Director of the Services Center and his assignment as Head of the Department of Structural Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Attia for obtaining a research project funded by the Center of Excellence for Energy at the University of Arizona, Dr. Mohamed Hussein El-Shafei for obtaining a research project funded by the Center of Excellence for Energy at the University of Arizona, Dr. Mona El-Wazir for her tenure as Director of the Sustainable Architecture Engineering Program, Mrs. Rania Fouad and Ms. Heba Reda for obtaining a 7/7 rating for the Engineering journal from the Supreme Council of Universities. Prof. Sherif then moved on to discuss the topics on the agenda to make decisions regarding them with the esteemed Faculty Council members.
