The Faculty of Engineering – Mansoura University organized a distinguished workshop entitled “From Data to Decarbonization: Energy System Modelling with PyPSA-Earth,” conducted by researchers Mr. Anton Aschheimer and Mr. Marco Schamihl from the Institute of Energy Networks and Storage (FENES) – Regensburg University of Applied Sciences (OTH Regensburg).

The workshop addressed important topics related to sustainability and climate change and explored how open-source tools can be used to design national energy systems that are more efficient, flexible, and supportive of the transition toward carbon neutrality.

The event witnessed strong participation and interaction from students and researchers, who engaged in practical applications focused on energy transition scenarios in Egypt. This reflects the faculty’s commitment to fostering knowledge and research in the field of sustainable energy.
