A Report on a Symposium Entitled "Research and Development Projects are Oriented Towards Industry or Academia" A symposium was held entitled "Do research and development projects go towards industry or academia?” under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Director of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering Program, the symposium was presented by Dr. Bassem Badr, an expert in electric cars in Canada, in the presence of a number of faculty members, assistant staff, students of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering Program, and a large number of all students of academic disciplines, today, Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at twelve o’clock in the hall of Prof. Dr. Al-Saeed Ashour. The symposium axes revolved around clarifying the following: How a graduate of the faculty determines his goals in addition to achieving them, the required skills that a graduate of the faculty must acquire to keep pace with the requirements of the external labor market, and how to implement some graduation projects by linking academic institutions with industrial companies. Dr. Bassem, talked about the problems that confront the graduate, how to overcome them and turn them into success stations in his practical life. The symposium also dealt with the use of presentations on models of electric cars manufactured in Canada and other international companies, it was emphasized that the global trend in the field of the automotive industry is moving in the future towards the direction of manufacturing those electric cars to work on reducing pollution. Dr Bassem briefed students on how to communicate with him for any inquiry. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Director of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering Program, honored him for his efforts and the valuable information he provided.
