Launching the Activities of Energy Day 2022 at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University
The Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, organized the Renewable Energy Day, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, and the leadership of Prof. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Director of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering Program, on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in Dr. Magdy Abu Rayan Conference Hall. Today's activities took place from ten in the morning until two o'clock in the afternoon, in the presence and participation of a group of faculty members and specialists in the field of renewable energy, namely: Prof. Dr. Walid Al-Khattam, Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Ain Shams University and a grant advisor for the Center for Energy Excellence, he delivered his speech on “Introducing the Energy Excellence Agreement”, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Galal Othman Who delivered his speech on "Renewable Energy Projects in Egypt and Jobs of the Future", Prof. Dr. Kamal Al-Nahhas, Head of the Water Sector at Suez Canal Authority and a consultant for water purification and treatment plants, he delivered his speech on "Renewable Energy and Water Desalination", Prof. Dr. Hassan Rakha, First Undersecretary of the Authority Former renewable energy and consultant engineer in the field of renewable energy, he delivered his speech on "Renewable Energy and Climate Change", Mr. Hatem El Romy Chairman of Triple M for Renewable Energy Group, who delivered his speech on "Renewable energy applications to support the national economy and sustainable job opportunities", Eng. Ahmed Fahim, Director of Renewable Energy Plants Construction, he delivered his speech on "How to turn the desert into solar energy plants", engineer Rabab Manea, Energy management systems expert at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNDID), and Dr. Amr Hamza, Ph.D. in Bioenergy - Chief Engineer at Children's Hospital, he delivered in his speech a "small-scale device for the production of bio-methane fuel"
The Day of Renewable Energy at the Faculty of Engineering comes to highlight the importance of the clear strategy adopted by the Egyptian state towards caring for clean, environmentally friendly renewable energy that is safe for human health, by benefiting from studies, research, applications and opinions of a group of officials, faculty members and specialized experts who were invited on the Energy Day and their effective, fruitful participation in Renewable Energy Day. The attendees indicated that renewable energy aims to meet the challenges and set a road map for Egypt's future on the renewable energy map for the world. They also spoke of the Egyptian government’s approval to implement a large number of projects that depend on environmentally friendly renewable energy, including the electric train project and the 50-megawatt solar photovoltaic plant in Zafarana, green hydrogen production in the economic zone of the Suez Canal and on the Mediterranean coast, wind energy projects with a capacity of 25 megawatts in the Gulf of Suez, and many other renewable energy projects. The great development witnessed by the energy industry at the regional and global levels. At the end of the Energy Day Activities, students of the Energy Program and participants in the activities were honored, certificates of honor were distributed to the attendees.
