Professor Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, held a meeting with the faculty’s teaching assistants, in the presence and participation of Professor Dr. Sahar Sedqi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Mostafa ElBahloul, Director of the Scientific Research Unit at the Faculty. On Sunday, March 24, 2024, in the hall of Professor Dr. Al-Saeed Ashour, at nine o’clock in the morning.
Prof. Sherif began the meeting by welcoming the attendees, then he briefed them about available opportunities provided by the faculty, which they must exploit and obtain. He also urged them to acquire skills and knowledge in addition to upgrading their academic level to move forward to a distinguished future. At the end of his speech, he affirmed that loyalty, dedication and commitment must be reflected in all their actions addressing the audience, saying, “As long as the faculty supports you in various ways, you must be committed, serious, and courteous toward the students and do your best toward yourselves.”
Then Prof. Dr., Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, mentioned that teaching assistants main role is to provide support and to foster a positive learning environment for the students.
Next, Prof. Dr. Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, spoke, congratulating the attendees on their appointment, motivating them to exert effort and work hard to upgrade their scientific level on an ongoing basis, setting goals and working to achieve them, in addition to paying attention to the students, because the teaching assistant is the link between the faculty staff member and the student at the moment.
The Director of the Scientific Research Unit also spoke, where he introduced the unit, the location of its headquarters, the role it plays, and the activities, courses, and services provided supporting all faculty members and the assisting staff.
Finally, the door was opened for discussions, exchanging ideas and experiences.

The Faculty of Engineering organized a workshop entitled: “Mobility Grants for Erasmus Projects at Mansoura University”, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the leadership of AP. Dr. Bishoy Elkis, Director of Strategic Planning Unit, AP. Dr. Abeer Tawakkol, Head of the Training and Competence Development Committee of the Strategic Future Unit. An illuminating presentation was delivered by AP. Dr. Muhammad Al-Rifai, Director of the International Relations Office and Mrs. Dina Hassan Al-Radi, Public Relations Specialist in the Office of the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, in the presence of a large number of the administrative staff of the faculty, on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the hall of Prof. Dr. Al-Saeed Ashour, at exactly eleven o’clock in the morning.
The workshop addressed a number of topics, the most important of which are: introducing the travel opportunities available through the Erasmus program, how to apply for a travel opportunity, and what are the methods of travel, such as scholarships through the Ministry of Higher Education, grants offered by some international corporations, and private grants through some universities, in addition to the grants provided through the Erasmus program. Categories funded by the Erasmus program, were mentioned as well as how to apply for Erasmus program grants.
Two successful travel experiences through the Erasmus program were also presented, where both Mrs. Ghada El-Sherbiny and Mrs. Dina Hassan Al-Radi spoke about their personal experiences and their travel abroad through the Erasmus program.
Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedqi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, also honored the workshop lecturers, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Bishoy Elkis, and Dr. Ahmed Hussein, Deputy Director of the Center for International Relations.

With the participation of Professor Dr. Amira Yasin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in cooperation with the Awareness Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, an awareness campaign was conducted today, Monday, March 25, 2024, in the Faculty of Engineering about the human papillomavirus and cervical cancer. The campaign included the administrative staff sector and the faculty’s students. The awareness campaign passed through the administrative offices and auditoriums and conducted field tours in most of the faculty’s locations.

The Faculty of Engineering organized a symposium on “Managing Anxiety and Stress,” under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El Badawy, Dean of the Faculty , Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amira Yasin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Khaled Ziyada, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. Prof. Dr. Nashaat Mansour, Professor of Sports Psychology at the Faculty of Physical Education, gave a highly informative lecture in the presence of a number of faculty members, assisting staff, and administrative staff, and the presence of a large number of faculty students, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in Prof. Dr. Rashad Al-Badrawi Hall, at twelve o’clock in the afternoon.
The symposium clarified a number of points, the most important of which are: the meaning of anxiety, the difference between anxiety, disorder, tension, and depression, the relationship between self and mind, and how to deal with life pressures, presenting methods that must be followed to prevent anxiety and disorder, such as emphasizing the necessity of social relationships and skills development. Always work on innovation and excellence in work performance, reading and having conviction.
At the end of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin opened the door for discussion. She extended thanks and appreciation to everyone for the importance of the symposium topic as well as for the momentum of attendance.

Arizona State University is seeking an experienced Technical Advisor to be part of the USAID-funded Center of Excellence for Energy (COE) project. The COE project is a partnership between ASU-US and three Egyptian partner universities (EPUs): Ain Shams University, Aswan University, and Mansoura University. The Technical Advisor, working closely with the Director and In-country Director, will implement a wide range of technical and academic programs in Energy for COE. The Technical Advisor will work closely with the faculty at the ASU and Egyptian partner COE Team. The Technical Advisor will also interface with USAID, and the stakeholders and partners in the Egypt energy sector.

The Office of International Relations announces the fellowship program offered by the Secretariat of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), which includes the following:
1- The program provides practical experience for young people at the beginning of their professional career in the academic sector, the private sector, and international development institutions, as it allows them to work in a number of fields for a period of 6 months, renewable once (the period of work does not exceed one year).
2- The fellowship focuses on a number of topics, including macroeconomic policies and economic governance, private sector development, poverty, inequality, societal policies, demographic policies, technology and innovation, climate change, environment, and natural resource management, including the green economy.
3- This program can be applied to those who hold a master’s or doctoral degree and have experience in preparing research, provided that they are proficient in the English or French language and their age does not exceed 40 years. Note that the applicant will send a research paper of 1000 words in the field in which he wishes to register. .
4- The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa shall bear the cost of the travel ticket, in addition to a one-time settlement allowance of $3,000, and a monthly allowance of $3,000.

The Faculty Council No. (590) was held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at ten o’clock in the morning in the Faculty Council meeting room, headed by Professor Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, interim dean of the faculty, and in the presence of vice deans, heads of scientific departments, and directors of specific programs.
Professor Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, opened the session by congratulating the attendees on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan and its coincidence with the holy fast of our Christian colleagues. He invited the attendees to a group breakfast.
He congratulated the faculty members who assumed administrative positions.
Prof. Sherif offered condolences to faculty members or their families who passed away.
- He praised the Civil Engineering Department for increasing publication rates achieved in international classifications.
- He thanked AP. Dr. Abeer Tawakkol, Director of the Huawei Academy at the faculty, for winning first and second places in the Huawei competition in Tunisia (30 teams from 9 countries in North Africa) and qualifying for the global competition in China.
- He praised faculty students’ winning advanced positions in many sports competitions.
- He congratulated Mansoura University team for winning first and second places in the Energy Excellence Center startups competition.
- He spoke about winning (7) students’ projects funded by the Academy of Scientific Research.
- He briefed the attendees on the ceremony of distributing certificates to the winning students in the Faculty of Engineering.
- He praised the participation of the Technical, and Scientific Services Center, Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, in the activities of launching Mansoura University institutional project to link scientific research with industry, which is called the Bridges Project.
Prof. Sherif extended his thanks and appreciation to Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, for the effort exerted and the excellence in performance. He also praised the number, diversity, and importance of the topics of the seminars, workshops, awareness campaigns, and student visits to all levels of pre-university education, which are continuously carried out.
- He talked about the ceremony of distributing certificates for the (OSHA) Occupational Safety and Health course.
- He mentioned holding a symposium on the safe use of the Internet.
- He explained the importance of the training that was conducted for the ISO courses in coordination with AP. Dr. Bishoy Elkis, Director of the Strategic Planning Unit.
- He praised the distinguished effort presented by both the Departments of Architecture and Civil Engineering. He also praised the scientific trips that took place for the students of the two departments.
- He congratulated Prof. Abeer Tawakkol and her team for winning third place nationwide in Benha University Hackathon.
-He informed the audience about donating the faculty workshop a machine from Eng. Salem Al-Hawawshi, Director of Al-Salam Company (3 welding machines with modern technology).
- He congratulated Prof. Dr. Adel Al-Hadidi for being nominated as an official speaker in Sharm El-Sheikh Scientific Conference.
- He presented the annual Impact Factor of the faculty’s scientific journal.
- Finally, students who won the Huawei competition were honored.
Then, His Excellency moved on to discuss the topics on the agenda in order to take decisions regarding them with the members of the esteemed Faculty Council.
