Report on Faculty Council Meeting No. (610)

 The Faculty Council Meeting No. (610) was held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Faculty Council Meeting Hall. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Sherif Massoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, and attended by the Faculty Vice-Deans, Heads of Academic Departments, Directors of Specific Programs, a number of emeritus professors, and several representatives from external community organizations.

Prof. Sherif Massoud El-Badawy opened the session and:

  • Welcomed all attendees, expressing appreciation for their continuous efforts and commending the faculty’s commitment, discipline, and satisfactory work performance.
    - Offered condolences to those who had lost relatives or colleagues, praying for mercy and forgiveness for the deceased.
    - Congratulated faculty members and teaching assistants who received scientific awards and were honored during the Science Day celebrations.
    - Extended congratulations to the teams progressing to the Administrative Excellence Award.
    - Congratulated Eng. Reham Moharram from the Center for Studies on obtaining her PhD, wishing her continued success.
    - Praised the inclusion of “Mansoura Engineering Journal” in the international Scopus database.
    - Explained the development stages of the scientific journal and the future targets planned for its advancement.
    - Presented a congratulatory letter received from the Dean of the College of Engineering, University of Al-Ain (Iraq), appreciating the journal’s achievements and distinction.
    - Spoke about several student activities conducted recently, including a workshop as part of the “New Beginning for Quality Education” initiative and the regular monthly meeting with student team leaders.
    - Referred to the celebration honoring retiring staff members.
    - Commended the successful organization of the Huawei Conference hosted by the Faculty.
    - Praised the excellence of Team ARAM in the second cycle of the “Egypt Makes” program.
    - Mentioned the letter of thanks and appreciation received from the Urology and Nephrology Center for the contribution of the Faculty’s Textiles Unit.
    - Discussed financial rewards for faculty members who obtained research projects.
    - Announced the opening of applications by the Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF) for the fourth call of the “Applied Sciences and Innovation Excellence Program (ASPIRA EGYPT).”
    - Noted the announcement of the Academy regarding nominations for participation in the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions.
    - Expressed appreciation to Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice-Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, for organizing the awareness campaign “Towards a Smoke-Free Faculty,” and for arranging educational visits to schools, including Mansoura International School 2, STEM School in Kafr El-Sheikh, and Al-Wadi International School.
    - Spoke about the visit of Dr. Moataz Mohamed, representative of McMaster University in Canada, aiming to strengthen academic and research cooperation between the two universities in fields of mutual interest.
    - Highlighted the distinguished social gathering held at the Nile Club with the participation of international students.
    - Announced the establishment and approval of three new specialized postgraduate programs and their academic regulations.
    - Conveyed gratitude to faculty members who organized competitions in memory of the late Prof. Mahmoud El-Emam and the late Prof. Ahmed El-Nemr.
    - Reported the launch of the third competition by the Structural Engineering Department.
    - Congratulated four students from the Department of Architecture for winning third place in a scientific contest, as well as another student for designing the new entrance of Al-Hawar Club. Congratulations were also extended to students achieving high ranks in various sports activities.
    - Noted that a meeting had been held with department managers to encourage courteous communication, discipline, and professionalism in administrative performance.
    - Announced the completion of the “Ideal Student” competition at the Faculty.
    - Reviewed the journal’s annual citation metrics.
    - Honored Assoc. Prof. Galal El-Baghdadi for his efforts during his tenure as Head of the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit, and Dr. Mostafa El-Bahloul, Director of the Scientific Research Unit, for his outstanding performance.
    - Honored several administrative staff members, including:
    - From the Student Affairs Department: Mr. Omar El-Sayed, Ms. Maha Abdel Nabi, and Ms. Rasha Abdel Aziz.
    - From the Technical Office: Ms. Rasha Ibrahim Abdel Mottaleb.
    - From the Engineering Journal Office: Ms. Rania Fouad (Journal Director) and Ms. Heba Reda Abdel Latif.
    - Finally, the Dean proceeded to discuss the agenda items of the meeting and took the appropriate decisions in consultation with the esteemed Council members.
