The Faculty Council No. (589) was held on Monday, February 12, 2024, at ten o’clock in the morning in the faculty council meeting room, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Sherif Masoud Al-Badawi, interim dean of the faculty, and in the presence of faculty vice deans, heads of scientific departments, and directors of specific programs.
The session was opened by Professor Dr. Sherif Masoud Al-Badawi, where he welcomed the attendees;
⁃ Congratulated the attendees on the occasion of the start of the second semester of the academic year 2023/2024, wishing everyone more success;
⁃ Sent his warm wishes on the occasion of the religious anniversary of the Night Journey and Mi’raj.
⁃ Offered words of condolences and sympathy to all of the employees of the Faculty of Engineering who passed away, whether faculty members, administrative staff, students, or their families.
⁃ Briefed the audience about the visit of the Iraqi Al-Ain University delegation, headed by Prof. Dr., President of Al-Ain University.
⁃ Mentioned the visit of Dr. Ahmed Al-Adl to hold training programs and provide job opportunities for faculty students after their graduation.
⁃ Praised the pioneering scientific competition that took place between students of the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering and students of the Mechatronics Engineering Program.
⁃ Talked about the opening of the OSHA Occupational Safety and Health course, with a lecture provided by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Mahdi.
⁃ Presented what has been done regarding the children’s course on the basics of smart robots, which was conducted under the supervision of A. P. Dr. Abeer Tawakkol, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Programme.
⁃ Announced organizing a student trip to the Cairo International Book Fair.
⁃ Presented the results of the internal Fund Project.
⁃ Informed the attendees about the series of introductory meetings with research fields in the various academic programmes.
⁃ Praised the Faculty of Engineering team’s winning in the quarter-finals.
⁃ Presented the position of the institution’s accreditation visit regarding the renewal of the faculty’s accreditation and the accreditation of the Department of Architecture.
⁃ Referred to the annual citation transactions in the faculty’s journal.
⁃ Declared the approval of issuing the faculty electronic journal in cooperation with other parties.

Then, Prof. Sherif moved on to discuss the topics on the agenda with the members of the esteemed Faculty Council.
