A Report on a Symposium Entitled: “National Projects in the Field of Water”
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sherif Masoud Al-Badawi, interim dean of the faculty, and in coordination with Engineer Abdul Rahman Omar Ali, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Graduate Follow-up Unit at the Faculty, a symposium was held entitled: “National Projects in the Field of Water,” Engineer Abdullah Ibrahim Dahina, irrigation and drainage station design consultant and former first undersecretary of the Ministry of Irrigation, lectured in Prof. Dr. Rashad Al-Badrawi conference hall on Monday, November 13, at ten in the morning.
The symposium aimed to enhance awareness of the importance of national projects in the field of water and exchange experiences and knowledge among experts and those interested in this field. The symposium addressed a number of topics, the most important of which are: water desalination projects and its distribution to dry and desert areas, building and developing water infrastructure including dams, hydroelectric stations, tunnels and canals, improving water management and planning for its resources, including developing irrigation, sanitation and flood management systems, educating society about the importance of water conservation and encouraging sustainable practices in its use, research and development in the field of water, including developing new technologies for water desalination, purification and storage.
Professor Dr. Sherif Al-Badawi honored Engineer Abdullah Dhaina for the effort exerted and the importance of the symposium’s topic.
