Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, chaired the meeting of the Faculty Council, today, Monday, April 10, 2023, at ten o’clock in the morning, in Prof. Dr. Rashad El-Badrawi Conference Hall, in the presence of the faculty’s vice deans, heads of scientific departments, directors of specific programs, and representatives of some community institutions.
The spirit of joy and pride prevailed at the meeting, celebrating the faculty’s winning first place for the Governmental Excellence Award at the level of the Republic, as well as the first place won by the faculty in the Huawei Global Competition, Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Rayan, the former president of the university, and one of the esteemed faculty symbols was honored as well.

The session was opened by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty where his excellency:

-Started the meeting by welcoming Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Rayan, former president of the university, and to all the attendees.

-Offered words of condolences to those who passed away in the recent period; Prof. Dr. Gamal Al-Ebeidi, former director of the Center for Digestive Surgery, Prof. Dr. Ragab El-Shahawy, Vice-Dean of the Higher Delta Institute for Engineering and Technology and Professor of Health Engineering at the Faculty, the mother of Mr. Ahmed Nashat, administrative director of the faculty, and the mother of Mr. Mahmoud Al-Mogy, Administrative Director of the Faculty Library.

-Praised the promotion of the faculty members, as he congratulated AP Dr. Fatima Al-Erian for her promotion to Assistant Professor of Production Engineering and Mechanical Design.

-Briefed the audience about some of the community and student work that took place in the faculty during the recent period, such as what was done in the celebration of Mother’s Day, as well as choosing (7) students who will travel according to the USAID agreement.

-Talked about the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Faculty on May 8, 2023.

-Presented what has been done regarding the development projects completed in the faculty.

-Confirmed that next Wednesday, April 12, 2023, will be the final evaluation visit to grant the faculty ISO in the areas of occupational safety and health, quality systems, and environmental management.

-Explained the faculty’s current position on quality work and what will be done regarding the progress to renew the accreditation of the architecture program and the renewal of the accreditation of the faculty.

-Honored Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Rayan, the former president of Mansoura University, Then, a number of distinguished faculty staff and administrative staff were honored; Dr. Mamdouh Al-Manshawi (Architecture Department), Dr. Muhammad Mustafa (Director of the Student Projects Unit), Eng. Ahmed Salah El-Din (Architecture Department), Eng. Ibrahim Abdel-Maaboud (Center of Studies), Eng. Israa Samir (Center for Studies), Eng. Aya Abu Al-Naga (Civil Engineering), Eng. Ibrahim Abdel-Maaboud (Center for Studies), Mr. Murad Abdel Moein (Arithmetic Unit), Mrs. Samah El Bokhary (Department of Postgraduate Studies and Research), Mr. Ahmed Abdel Wahhab (Administrative Security), Mr. Ahmed Al Mansouri (Technician in Workshops), Mrs. Aziza El Sayed (Public Affairs)

-Honored the winning Huawei team in the Huawei Global Competition, as a harvest of what they exerted in terms of preparation and training, perseverance, communication and achieved ambition, as he honored AP Dr. Abeer Tawakul (Director of the Huawei Academy in the Faculty of Engineering), student Amir Shtayyeh (Faculty of Engineering), student Yasmine Rizk (Faculty of Engineering), student Christina Habib (Faculty of Computers and Information), where Mansoura University students won first place at the level of the Republic and second at the level of the African continent, to guarantee Egypt a seat in the global stage in the Huawei Information and Communication Technology Competition.

-The Government Excellence Team were honored for their effort and accuracy in performing, arranging and organizing the work, which culminated in winning the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, the first place at the level of public universities. Members of the team are:
