The Faculty of Engineering organized a workshop entitled "Risk Management" under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, the supervision and coordination of Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in cooperation between Assistant Professor Dr. Amr Gabr, Head of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee at the University, Dr. Mohamed Riad, Director of Crisis and Disaster Management at the University, and Mrs. Azza El-Khamisi, Director General of Strategic Management at the University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Jalal El-Boghdadi, Director of the Crisis and Disaster Unit at the Faculty, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Prof. Dr. El-Saeed Ashour meeting room at exactly 10:30 am.
The workshop addressed a number of important topics, including: the definition of risks, their assessment, procedures for dealing with them, and how to secure the work environment, the proactive step to identify the types of risks before they occur, identifying the types of risks and providing occupational safety and health conditions for them, the management approach to dealing with crisis and disaster management and risk reduction, crisis and disaster management policies and tasks, clarifying the difference between risk and hazard and how to calculate each of them, how to calculate the degree of risk impact, identifying the probability of an accident, and how to calculate the risk.

1 - University Appreciation Award, number (5), each worth one hundred thousand pounds.
2 - Academic Excellence Award, number (9), each worth fifty thousand pounds.
3 - University Incentive Award, number (24), each worth twenty-five thousand pounds.
4 - Best PhD theses, number (25), each worth fifteen thousand pounds.
5 - Best Master's theses, number (25), each worth ten thousand pounds.
6 - Best Scientific Department Award, number (6) in:
Medical sciences (two prizes)
Basic Sciences, Life Sciences and Engineering Sciences (two prizes)
Humanities and Educational Sciences (two prizes).
The value of each prize is two hundred thousand pounds for the academic year 2024/2025.

The awards shall be applied for directly according to the amended Mansoura University Awards Regulations approved by the University Council on 18/4/2023, 27/5/2024, as the application does not require a nomination by the college and the application shall be in person.

Under the Leadership of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, supervision of, Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and all heads of scientific departments, directors of specific programs, and faculty members.
The graduation projects of the students of the Faculty of Engineering have been discussed within an organized framework, a number of distinguished external professors were hosted to participate in the discussion in order to exchange ideas and acquire additional skills for students. A group of distinguished industrialists in the labor market were also invited so that, students can benefit from bridging the gap between academic study and practical application in the external labor market, where everyone praised the level of organization of the faculty administration, the level of students' ideas and projects for their feasibility and practical application and their contribution to solving some industrial problems to meet the needs of society.

In reference to the educational role of the Workshop Technology Unit within Mansoura University and to spread the educational role of the Workshop Technology Unit to all educational institutions outside Mansoura University, and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif M. El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Al-Tahrani, Director of the Technical, Laboratory and Scientific Services Center, and Dr. Abdel Khalek Al-Adl, Director of the Workshop Technology Unit, the Workshop Technology Unit at the Faculty, as one of the most important units affiliated with the Technical, Laboratory and Scientific Services Center, received students of the Higher Technological Institute of Applied Health Sciences in Sherbin for practical training on the principles of manufacturing engineering, on Wednesday 3/7/2024 and Thursday 4/7/2024.

The practical training within the unit focused on some workshops such as: [blacksmithing workshop, welding, sheet metal workshop, filing workshop, machinery workshop, and electrical workshop] where Dr. Abdel Khalek El Adl, Director of the Workshop Technology Unit, gave an introduction to the principles of manufacturing engineering and the importance of each workshop, then the technicians responsible for each workshop explained the production processes in it,
Then the practical training was done where each student individually conducted a practical experiment alone. The Workshop Technology Unit management was keen to distribute safety and security tools to all students such as a welding mask to preserve their safety.

The unit management stated its keenness to benefit the students of the Higher Technological Institute of Health and Applied Sciences in Sherbin from the training in its practical and theoretical aspects, hoping to continue cooperation in the coming years with an increase in the duration and places

Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, congratulated both Eng. Fayrouz Yasser El-Wasif, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Structural Engineering, and Eng. Ahmed Ali El-Awady, demonstrator, Department of Mathematics and Engineering Physics, for receiving a scholarship from Mansoura University with the Erasmus program, wishing them further success and excellence.

Conferences

Within the framework of cooperation and integration between the faculties of Mansoura University, the Faculty of Engineering participated through the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector in the 2024 Annual Conference of the Department of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura. Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Haikal, vice dean of the faculty of engineering for community service and environmental development affairs presented in the conference, the title of the presentation was "Digital Transformation and the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Anatomical Pathology". Prof. Amira Yassin Heikal, was awarded the conference shield, for the valuable information she provided in the field of artificial intelligence, which greatly contributed to enriching the conference.

Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, hosted a delegation from the State Key Laboratory of Robotics and Systems at Harbin Engineering University - China, with the attendance and participation of Prof. Dr. Noha Fouda, Head of the Department of Production Engineering and Mechanical Design, coordination of Professor Dr. Osama Badie, Department of Production Engineering, Dr. Mohamed Gouda El-Qala, and Eng. Mohamed Omar, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Production Engineering, in his office on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The visit of the Chinese delegation to Mansoura Faculty of Engineering came to enrich the scientific exchange process and the experiences of researchers in both universities in the field of developing and designing robots and control systems. The activities of the first day of the Chinese delegation's visit, which is scheduled to last for two days, June 26 and 27, 2024, began with a working session in Prof. Dr. El-Saeed Ashour room with the attendance and participation of Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, a large number of faculty members and assistant staff. During the session, Mansoura University was introduced, its capabilities and ranking among universities according to international classifications, and the capabilities of the capabilities of Engineering and its expertise were introduced. Modern technologies in the field of robotics and systems were also presented and discussed.

The Chines presented their most important experiences and research results in this field. This was followed by an inspection tour of a number of faculty laboratories, and a visit to a number of centers in the university, which received praise and appreciation from the Chinese delegation for their uniqueness and distinction. The visit concluded on its first day with a discussion session between both sides in El Rowad meeting room, the most important outcome of which was the recommendation and even emphasis on the necessity of cooperation on joint projects in the present and future, and holding workshops and meetings on robots, smart systems, and all related technologies related to artificial intelligence that benefit this field.

Faculty Council No. (594) was held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at exactly ten o'clock in the morning in the Faculty Council meeting room, headed by Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, and attended by: faculty vice deans, heads of academic departments and directors of Specific Programs.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy opened the session by congratulating
some faculty members on their promotions.
Then, he honored the best administrative employee, the best worker, and the best administrative security personnel for the month of July 2024.
- Prof. El-Badawy briefed the attendees about the visit of a delegation from the State Main Laboratory for Robotics and Electronic Systems at Harbin University - China.
- He spoke about the visit to the University's Measurement and Evaluation Center.
- He informed the attendees about "Risk Management" workshop.
- He praised the practical training activities for students of the Higher Technological Institute for Applied Health Sciences through their training in the Technical Workshop Technology Unit at the faculty.
- He mentioned launching the donation campaign by Mansoura University to establish the building of "New Emergency Hospital Extension".
- He declared the start of accepting applications for nominations from department heads, secretaries and members of university education sector committees for its new session 2024-2025.
- He mentioned the National Telecom Regulatory Authority competition for the graduation projects competition for the year 2023-2024.
- He informed the audience about the preparations taking place for holding a graduation ceremony, batch 2023/2024, on August 4, 2024 in the Olympic Village.
- He stated that an exhibition of student projects is being organized, as well as a celebration of quality accreditation for some departments and renewal of the faculty’s accreditation.
- He said that the application for the Government Excellence Competition was submitted.
- He talked about student projects, annual reports, and academic results for the academic year 2023/2024.
- He praised the staff of the Studies Center regarding the completion of licensing transactions in the building licensing system in all Egyptian universities.
- He mentioned the annual citation impact of the faculty journal.
- At the end of the presentation, the faculty employees and security personnel were honored for their efficient performance and good conduct during the month of June 2024.
It is worth noting that (6) ISO certificates were renewed.
He then moved to discuss topics on the agenda, taking decisions regarding them with the esteemed members of the Faculty Council.

The National Telecom Regulatory Authority announces the opening of applications for the Graduation Projects Competition 2023/2024 for students of engineering colleges and technology institutes across the country. The competition aims to select the best graduation projects in the field of information and communications technology, which can be utilized and developed to be the nucleus of applied products manufactured in Egypt, which contributes to meeting the needs of the Egyptian communications market and enhancing the localization of the technology industry in Egypt.

The competition includes several fields, namely cybersecurity, web applications, data engineering and analysis, cloud computing, wireless communications (improving coverage and quality of services within buildings), the Internet of Things, robotics and embedded systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
