The Faculty of Engineering organized a workshop entitled "Risk Management" under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, the supervision and coordination of Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in cooperation between Assistant Professor Dr. Amr Gabr, Head of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee at the University, Dr. Mohamed Riad, Director of Crisis and Disaster Management at the University, and Mrs. Azza El-Khamisi, Director General of Strategic Management at the University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Jalal El-Boghdadi, Director of the Crisis and Disaster Unit at the Faculty, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Prof. Dr. El-Saeed Ashour meeting room at exactly 10:30 am.
The workshop addressed a number of important topics, including: the definition of risks, their assessment, procedures for dealing with them, and how to secure the work environment, the proactive step to identify the types of risks before they occur, identifying the types of risks and providing occupational safety and health conditions for them, the management approach to dealing with crisis and disaster management and risk reduction, crisis and disaster management policies and tasks, clarifying the difference between risk and hazard and how to calculate each of them, how to calculate the degree of risk impact, identifying the probability of an accident, and how to calculate the risk.

The graduation projects of the students of the Faculty of Engineering have been discussed within an organized framework, a number of distinguished external professors were hosted to participate in the discussion in order to exchange ideas and acquire additional skills for students. In reference to the educational role of the Workshop Technology Unit within Mansoura University and to spread the educational role of the Workshop Technology Unit to all educational institutions outside Mansoura University, and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif M. El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman Al-Tahrani, Director of the Technical, Laboratory and Scientific Services Center, and Dr. Abdel Khalek Al-Adl, Director of the Workshop Technology Unit, the Workshop Technology Unit at the Faculty, as one of the most important units affiliated with the Technical, Laboratory and Scientific Services Center, received students of the Higher Technological Institute of Applied Health Sciences in Sherbin for practical training on the principles of manufacturing engineering, on Wednesday 3/7/2024 and Thursday 4/7/2024.
The practical training within the unit focused on some workshops such as: [blacksmithing workshop, welding, sheet metal workshop, filing workshop, machinery workshop, and electrical workshop] where Dr. Abdel Khalek El Adl, Director of the Workshop Technology Unit, gave an introduction to the principles of manufacturing engineering and the importance of each workshop, then the technicians responsible for each workshop explained the production processes in it,
Then the practical training was done where each student individually conducted a practical experiment alone. The Workshop Technology Unit management was keen to distribute safety and security tools to all students such as a welding mask to preserve their safety.

Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, hosted a delegation from the State Key Laboratory of Robotics and Systems at Harbin Engineering University - China, with the attendance and participation of Prof. Dr. Noha Fouda, Head of the Department of Production Engineering and Mechanical Design, coordination of Professor Dr. Osama Badie, Department of Production Engineering, Dr. Mohamed Gouda El-Qala, and Eng. Mohamed Omar, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Production Engineering, in his office on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The visit of the Chinese delegation to Mansoura Faculty of Engineering came to enrich the scientific exchange process and the experiences of researchers in both universities in the field of developing and designing robots and control systems. The activities of the first day of the Chinese delegation's visit, which is scheduled to last for two days, June 26 and 27, 2024, began with a working session in Prof. Dr. El-Saeed Ashour room with the attendance and participation of Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, a large number of faculty members and assistant staff. - At the end of the presentation, the faculty employees and security personnel were honored for their efficient performance and good conduct during the month of June 2024.

The National Telecom Regulatory Authority announces the opening of applications for the Graduation Projects Competition 2023/2024 for students of engineering colleges and technology institutes across the country. The competition aims to select the best graduation projects in the field of information and communications technology, which can be utilized and developed to be the nucleus of applied products manufactured in Egypt, which contributes to meeting the needs of the Egyptian communications market and enhancing the localization of the technology industry in Egypt.
The competition includes several fields, namely cybersecurity, web applications, data engineering and analysis, cloud computing, wireless communications (improving coverage and quality of services within buildings), the Internet of Things, robotics and embedded systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

We are looking for a qualified and proactive Civil Structural Engineer, willing to contribute to CERN, one of the world's most complex and exciting scientific facility.
As a Civil Structural Engineer, you will join the Infrastructure and Building Safety Engineering Section - Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Protection (HSE) Unit.
You will:
· Check and verify design calculations of structures drawn according to the European and Swiss standards.
· Provide support to the design and assessment of standard and non-standard structures.
· Perform applied research activities in the field of structures exposed to accidental and extreme events, such as fire and earthquake.
· Provide technical guidance and inputs for the scoping and preparation of vulnerability assessments for CERN structures and infrastructures.
· Evaluate the integration of safety requirements in engineering solutions provided by CERN technical departments.
· Provide support in safety audits and technical reviews.
· Check the conformity to safety requirements of engineering and tendering specifications.
· Write CERN safety documentation.
· Participate in the HSE-OHS group's projects/experiments safety support activity for CERN projects, to follow-up and to coordinate internally different contributions from safety specialists.
Master's degree in civil structural engineering.
Up to the end of 2024 at least.
Spoken and written English: ability to understand and speak in professional contexts would be an advantage. Ability to draw-up technical papers and/or scientific reports and to make oral presentations. Knowing spoken and written French also is considered as an asset.
