On Sunday, 4/8/2024, the Faculty of Engineering - Mansoura University organized the Fourth Engineering Projects Exhibition for the faculty students, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Education and Students Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman El-Tahrani, Head of the Department of Structural Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Abeer Tawkel, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Program, Dr. Mohamed Mustafa, Director of the Student Projects Unit, and a large number of faculty members. The exhibition was held in an atmosphere full of constructive, purposeful student competition accompanied by a spirit of challenge to keep pace with the latest modern scientific technologies, to consolidate the faculty’s educational message and interest in linking the academic aspect with practical application in accordance with the requirements and needs of the external labor market, which aims to graduate a distinguished engineer capable of competing and innovating at the regional and global levels.

As part of the Egyptian state's keenness to enhance the spirit of competition among university students and look forward to what is new in information systems and data security, the Military Technical College organized the CSC-2 Cyber ​​Security Competition among university students from June 25, 2024 to July 28, 2024, which is the largest of its kind in the Arab Republic of Egypt and includes various topics such as web application hacking, reverse engineering, forensic evidence and cryptography. Many teams applied to compete, 15 teams competed, the best 15 teams were selected to advance to the final stage.

In this context, the MiG-17 team, which includes three students from the Department of Computer Engineering and Control Systems, Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, succeeded in obtaining first place in the competition level, the winning students are as follows:

Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, and the faculty’s Vice Deans extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Ayman El-Tahrani, Director of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Laboratory, for the laboratory obtaining the renewal of accreditation from the National Accreditation Council, signed by His Excellency the Minister of Industry, as the approval came to renew the accreditation of the laboratory in some mechanical tests of soil in accordance with the requirements of the international specification ISO / IEC 17025:2017.
The Dean of the faculty also hopes that all faculty laboratories shall follow the same principles and adopt the approach of ambition, adhering to excellence to obtain accreditation, wishing more success for the Faculty of Engineering in the laboratory sector and at all levels.

Two teams from the faculty of engineering won the Egyptian University Programming Competition (ECPC).
This competition is considered the Egyptian regional qualifier for the Arab and African University Programming Championship, from which the winners are qualified for the International University Programming Competition.
The first team, Waleed El-La7z, won the bronze medal in the final of the Egyptian Programming Competition for University Students after obtaining the ninth place out of 3500 teams from various Egyptian universities.

General conditions for nomination
⁃ The award is dedicated to citizens of the Arab Republic of Egypt working in Egyptian governmental, private or civil higher education institutions or one of the research centers or experts and workers in various state agencies and bodies. Researchers from outside Egypt may also apply.

⁃ The applicant must have a distinguished applied scientific production in the service of society and published in indexed international scientific journals or patents with distinctive applications that contribute to supporting presidential initiatives to care for human health, engineering and technological sciences and provide systems and strategies that contribute to the development of the water, energy and food sectors to contribute to achieving environmental sustainability and food security and provide applied studies that contribute to increasing economic growth to achieve development plans and economic renaissance and solve national problems in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

⁃ The applicant must not have been awarded another award or scientific degree for the same scientific production from any donor during the last five years prior to the announcement of the award.

⁃ It is not permissible to apply for two of the announced awards and it is not permissible to apply for those who have previously won the award in previous sessions.

A pilot sector has been implemented using a new technology, which is an asphalt mixture improved with plastic waste on Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road, under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport, with technical support from the National Institute of Transport and the General Authority for Roads, Bridges and Land Transport and a group of experienced and competent specialists from the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, represented by Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Alaa Rashad, Asst. Paving this pilot sector is being implemented by the Egyptian Company for the Construction and Maintenance of Transport Facilities and Airports, under the supervision and continuous follow-up of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, the Military Technical College, the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the Ministry of Environment.

Professor Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, received head of the University International Student Management Office, in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Mohamed Jar El-Alam, Director of the International Student Office and International Relations Office at the faculty in his office on Tuesday morning, July 23, 2024, where the needs of international students were discussed, as well as the necessary preparations and arrangements for the upcoming academic year 2024/2025. The performance and tasks of the International Student Office at the faculty were also determined, as well as the communication channels and the complementary relationship between it and the University's office, in a way that ultimately serves the interests of the international students whether in the undergraduate stage or in the postgraduate stage, in a way that achieves a positive return for both the faculty and the University.
