
On Sunday, 4/8/2024, the Faculty of Engineering - Mansoura University organized the Fourth Engineering Projects Exhibition for the faculty students, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Education and Students Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ayman El-Tahrani, Head of the Department of Structural Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Abeer Tawkel, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Program, Dr. Mohamed Mustafa, Director of the Student Projects Unit, and a large number of faculty members. The exhibition was held in an atmosphere full of constructive, purposeful student competition accompanied by a spirit of challenge to keep pace with the latest modern scientific technologies, to consolidate the faculty’s educational message and interest in linking the academic aspect with practical application in accordance with the requirements and needs of the external labor market, which aims to graduate a distinguished engineer capable of competing and innovating at the regional and global levels.

The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announces the opening of applications for the "My Project-My Start” program to support graduation projects for the academic year 2024/2025. Dr. Gina El-Feky, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research, explained that the Academy has been the largest supporter of graduation projects in Egypt and the Middle East for eleven consecutive years, based on its belief that young people are the main engine of the locomotive of progress, as the Academy supports final-year students in practical colleges in all specializations in all Egyptian universities through one of its most important programs "My Project, My Start", which the Academy launched in 2012/2013. The Academy provides support for the best projects in all specializations, and that support is not limited to the faculties of engineering and science; To include the largest student base in Egypt for the best technically accepted projects, as the support included many specializations such as decoration, cartoons and electronic games, software industry, Internet of Things, electronics and robotics industry in addition to green technology, energy and water, in addition to logistics, petroleum industries, assistance programs for the disabled, waste recycling and city beautification, food industries, handicraft industries and others.
For his part, Dr. Amr Farouk, Assistant President of the Academy for Technological Development, stated that the Academy has supported more than 4,800 graduation projects during the previous years through the graduation projects support program "My Project is My Beginning", with a total value of more than 165 million pounds, and more than 60 thousand students from all public and private universities across the Arab Republic of Egypt have benefited from this support.
In a related context, Eng. Mahmoud Tantawy, Executive Director of the Academy's Graduation Projects Program, explained that all details, project fields, application forms and grant applications will be open starting today through the Academy's official website www.asrt.sci.eg, with the last date for applying for individual projects being October 31, 2024, while for collective projects and projects specific only to bodies and universities, the last date for applying is August 31, 2024. Tantawy pointed out that this year's projects focus on supporting individual projects for students through governorate challenges for more than 96 challenges from 15 governorates in addition to technological university projects, cluster projects, and projects specific only to bodies and universities in several fields, namely cybersecurity, animation, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, space sciences, financial technology, visual identity, green economy, renewable energy, and biotechnology. Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Mostafa El-Bahlol, Director of the Scientific Research Support Unit, organized a workshop on how to write research projects. The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Ayman Sabry El-Baz, Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering and Head of the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Louisville in the United States of America, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 8:00 PM via the Microsoft Team application.

The lecturer reviewed some basic information about research projects and the importance of linking research projects to industry and society. He explained procedures that the researcher must follow to write a well organized research project, starting with the idea to implementation. He explained the differences between the data that must be collected to be included in the research project and how to choose the appropriate data for the project topic. Then the lecturer presented one of the previous projects as a practical example, explaining the obstacles that the team faced and how they were overcome until they obtained the necessary funding to address the problem.
Prof. Dr. Ayman Sabry El-Baz thanked the attendees urging them to pay attention to the good presentation of the research idea so as to facilitate obtaining funding.

Two teams from the faculty of engineering won the Egyptian University Programming Competition (ECPC).
This competition is considered the Egyptian regional qualifier for the Arab and African University Programming Championship, from which the winners are qualified for the International University Programming Competition.
The first team, Waleed El-La7z, won the bronze medal in the final of the Egyptian Programming Competition for University Students after obtaining the ninth place out of 3500 teams from various Egyptian universities.

The Basics of Programming and Robotics Course for Kids and Teenagers started on 10/08/2024 in the Work Space halls, Specific Programs Building for a number of children of faculty members, administrative staff, and the outside community as well, in its fifth round, this course is held during the summer vacation of each year under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Abeer Twakol, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Program and her distinguished team, as this Course aims to achieve important goals and ambitions and instill them in children from an early age, such as training and eagerness to get used to practical training by disassembling and assembling manually and connecting circuits practically, in addition to acquiring group work skills.

A pilot sector has been implemented using a new technology, which is an asphalt mixture improved with plastic waste on Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road, under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport, with technical support from the National Institute of Transport and the General Authority for Roads, Bridges and Land Transport and a group of experienced and competent specialists from the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, represented by Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Alaa Rashad, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Metwally, Dr. Ahmed Naguib, Assistant lecturer, Abdullah, Assistant lecturer, Mohamed El-Sayed, Assistant lecturer, Mohamed Gamal.
Paving this pilot sector is being implemented by the Egyptian Company for the Construction and Maintenance of Transport Facilities and Airports, under the supervision and continuous follow-up of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, the Military Technical College, the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the Ministry of Environment.
