The Faculty of Engineering received today, Wednesday, September 25, in Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Ryan amphitheater, new students and their families, where they were received by Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, interim Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky Qaddah, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, a number of faculty members and the Student Care Department. The day began with playing the national anthem, then the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, after that an introductory video about the faculty was played followed by a speech by Prof. El- Badawy, in which he welcomed the students and their families, expressing deep gratitude for their hard efforts, their determination and insistence to achieve the students’ excellence and enrollment in the Faculty of Engineering. During his speech, he explained what academic life is like within the university in general and within the faculty of engineering in particular. He talked about various scientific departments and quality programs found in the faculty. He explained the different student activities that can be practiced during the study period through the Student Care Unit, and how to create a spirit of cooperation, integration and acquaintance among freshman and old students. He also stressed the importance of continuous work to support his students and communicate with them through several channels such as meetings and personal guidance. The student meeting was concluded with a short theatrical sketch lasting 10 minutes. At the end of the meeting, the students and their families expressed their satisfaction and admiration for the surrounding atmosphere, which made them eager and excited to start studying and integrating with their faculty.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, interim dean of the faculty, conducted an inspection tour, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Nasser El-Badawihy, Director General of the Faculty and Major General Ashraf El-Khelawy, Director of faculty Administrative Security. They inspected auditoriums and laboratories to ensure full readiness, and to ensure that the preparation of the study schedules was carried out with perfection. Student activities were also inspected. Prof. El- Badawy listened to new students stressing that the faculty administration is always keen to provide full support for the advancement of the educational process within all departments of the faculty and to harness all capabilities to serve students and to create the appropriate atmosphere to help them excel and succeed.

Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service Affairs, received a delegation from the Indian company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Sunday, September 22, 2024, with the aim of training a number of the faculty’s top students at the company's various headquarters and then providing job opportunities for a number of trainee students, in the specializations of electrical power, renewable energy, mechanical and civil engineering.
It is worth noting that Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is a giant Indian company working in the fields of technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services, and has global operations. L&T also works to meet critical needs in key sectors - hydrocarbon, infrastructure, energy, process industries and defense - for customers in more than 30 countries around the world.
This company has a significant impact on the economy and their integrated capabilities extend to the entire scope of "design to delivery".
The Industrial Advisory Council meeting was held on Sunday 22/9/2024 at 11:00 am in Al- Rwad meeting Hall, headed by Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, participation of: Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abed Nasr, Department of Mathematics and Engineering Physics, and representatives of external community institutions, namely: Eng. Abdel Rahman Saleh, Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Amani, Educational Buildings Authority, and Assoc. Prof. Mohamed Sami El-Gayar, Beb Arab Control System Company.A number of topics were discussed, the most important of which are:
(1) The need to work on bridging the gap between academic study and the needs of the labor market through field training for students in factories and companies;
(2) Working on students acquiring certain skills during the study period such as: language, how to conduct a feasibility study for a specific project, and training on the use of specific specialized programs;
(3) Holding the upcoming meetings of the Industrial Advisory Council alternately in one of the factories or companies of the honorable members of the Council;
(4) Ensuring that successful models of Council members are presented to speak to students on some occasions such as the employment forum so that their success story is a role model for students and an incentive for them to achieve their ambitions;
(5) The need to strengthen relations between the faculty and a number of companies and factories, especially the private sector.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty, congratulates "Mansoura Robotics" team for winning second place in the local qualifiers for the largest green and sustainable projects competitions in the world, thus representing the Arab Republic of Egypt in the qualifiers at the level of the continents of Asia and Africa, with the VERTECHX project, which is a smart vertical greenhouse that aims to increase the productivity of agricultural lands, especially those specialized in exporting their products to the European Union, in addition to reducing their consumption of chemicals, which improves the quality of agricultural production.
This was done under the supervision of Assoc. Prof.Mahmoud Mohamed Saafan, Department of Computer Engineering and Control Systems, and with the participation of students from various departments in the faculty, namely: Mohamed Khaled Anis, Mahmoud Ibrahim Abdel Aziz, Abdel Rahman Ahmed Shafik, Yahya Mohamed Al-Ajami, Youssef Ahmed Al-Ghammaz, Muhand Tawfiq, Mohamed Rizk, Omar Soleiman, Ziad Osama, Youssef Taher, Mohamed Al-Janaini, Karim Ashraf.
It is worth noting that the international competition CLIMATE LAUNCH PAD, in which Mansoura University team "Mansoura Robotics" will participate, is supported by the European Union, and is held annually in more than 50 countries from Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America, as the competition aims to support distinctive innovations that contribute to eliminating the problems of climate change and global warming, and transforming them into effective start-up companies in local and international markets.

Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, with pride and joy extends his heartfelt congratulations to our outstanding faculty teams for winning the first and second places at the republic level in Benha University Innovation Marathon, which was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Applying for the competition was under the supervision of: Assoc. Prof. Mahmoud Saafan, Department of Computer Engineering and Control Systems and vice president of Intilaq Company, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saleh, Director of the Computer and Communications Engineering Program, and Eng. Hager Hamdy, with the participation of a number of faculty students from various departments and programs.
The VerTechX team won first place, Artificial Intelligence category, to increase agricultural productivity.

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and organization by Dr. Mostafa El-Bahloul, Director of the Scientific Research Support Unit, a workshop was held on how to apply for the Egypt-US Cooperation Grant, presented by Prof. Dr. Amr Awad Ibrahim, General Coordinator of Research at the University and Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Mansoura University, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 8:00 PM through the Microsoft Teams application. The meeting lasted for two hours.
Prof. Awad reviewed some basic information about the program based on his experience, as he won it once before. He advised the attendees to be prepared in advance to apply for the various projects, as they are simultaneously announced. He also directed the need for prior knowledge of the American partner to ensure the continuity of the cooperation program throughout the project period in addition to facilitating the technical obstacles. He presented the projects announced by the project donor, namely: water, energy, health, agriculture, and artificial intelligence. He directed the need to adhere to them as they have priority in funding. Prof. Awad presented examples of previous projects and explained the main challenges they faced and the points that caused some projects to weaken and how to improve them, such as purchasing devices, determining rewards, and the project implementation timeline.
The meeting ended with Prof. Dr. Amr Awad thanking the attendees for their interest in the topic and urging them to communicate in case of any additional inquiries while preparing the progress file.
