Report on the Activity of the Energy Management Training Course In Cooperation with the United Nations for Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and The renewable and sustainable energy program Entitled " Energy Management Systems - “iso 50001:2018”
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sahar Sidky, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs - Director of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering Program, In cooperation with the United Nations for Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a training course was held for three days, from Tuesday, March 29 till Thursday, March 31, 2022, in the Conference Hall, Prof. Dr. Al-Saeed Ashour Hall, Eng. Rabab Manea, an expert on energy management systems at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization gave the lectures , in the presence of a number of faculty professors from various scientific departments, especially the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Program, the Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, and a large number of Fourth, third and second year students from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Power Mechanics, Medical Engineering, and Building and Construction. Several topics were addressed during the training course for example:
- Giving an overview of the United Nations for Industrial Development Organization.
- A general introduction to energy management systems and the versions of ISO 50001:2018.
- Advantages and disadvantages of energy management application systems.
- students Trained on the list of devices used in factories and the method of calculating them from energy and applying this practically on the devices used in homes.
- Practical apply on actual data from the factory to make a baseline and discuss a group of the concepts associated with it.
- Discuss potential energy performance improvement opportunities for some common equipment in factories.
- Technical reviews of energy performance indicators become part of the energy team's daily work as well as periodic maintenance activities and adjustment of consumption related indicators.
- Internal reviews of the energy management system is a typical process for continuous improvement.
And in appreciation of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the faculty, for Eng/ Rabab Manea, the lecturer of the course effort's during the training course and for the valuable benefit to the trainees. His Excellency welcomed and honored her in his office by giving her a certificate of appreciation and dedicated her the faculty shield.
