Honoring Ceremony for the First Graduating Class of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program

In an atmosphere marked by excellence and support for talents, the hall of Prof. Rashad El-Badrawy, Faculty of Engineering – Mansoura University witnessed, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the graduation project discussions for the final-year students of the first batch of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering program. The event was attended by a distinguished group of academic leaders, faculty members, and a number of parents.

The discussion and evaluation session was chaired by Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim – Vice President of the University, with the participation and presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Moawad – Head of the Department of Computer and Systems Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Abeer Tawakol – Director of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program, and Assoc. Prof. Mohamed Sabry, the Department of Computer and Control Systems Engineering.

Several prominent figures from outside the university, including industry professionals and specialized experts, also took part in discussing the student projects, as part of efforts to strengthen the link between academic education and the labor market. Among them were Dr. Ahmed El-Sadawy, Vice President of the Egyptian Society for Medical Engineering and Director of MECS Company, who served as an external project evaluator from the labor market, and Assoc. Prof. Mohamed Maher, Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence – Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation, also an external project evaluator from the labor market.

The students presented their graduation projects through presentations that demonstrated the scientific and practical skills they had acquired throughout their studies. They were then evaluated by the committee, which praised the professionalism and innovation in the execution of the projects.

During the discussion, Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim provided the students with several professional guidelines and advice in preparation for their entry into the labor market, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and self-development in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.

In a touching human gesture, a minute of silence was observed in memory of two students of the program, Raji Abdel Halim and Mohamed Hidaya, who passed away during their studies, before the start of the honoring ceremony.

At the conclusion of the events, Prof. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Assoc. Prof. Abeer Tawakol, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program and initiator of the idea to honor the first batch, and Assoc. Prof. Mahmoud Saafan, former Director of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program, presented certificates of honor and exchanged other forms of recognition that added an atmosphere of joy and happiness for the students and all attendees, in appreciation of their academic excellence and efforts during their studies.
