Hamza Abu El-Khair launches the "Luthgha" app, which uses AI to solve communication problems

In April, the Faculty of Engineering had the honor of hosting an official media delegation from the Anzisha Prize Foundation in South Africa to document the remarkable success story of student Hamza Mostafa Aboulkheir as part of a series of short films produced by the foundation about the most influential young entrepreneurs in Africa.
The video documents Hamza’s experience as the founder of “Luthgha,” the first Arabic application specialized in supporting and treating speech and language disorders using technology and artificial intelligence.
The application offers interactive exercises to treat speech problems such as lisps, stuttering, and stammering, as well as services for booking remote therapy sessions with specialists. It also includes evaluation and follow-up tools aimed at improving the user experience and accelerating the treatment process. The app is used by more than 72,000 users from over 84 countries worldwide and has won numerous local and international awards. Last year, it represented Mansoura University and the Arab world in the finals of the Hult Prize competition in London.
The Anzisha Foundation selected this pioneering model to represent Egypt in its media programs aimed at African youth. The main interview was filmed inside the faculty at the foundation’s request, emphasizing the role of Egyptian universities in supporting innovation and entrepreneurship.
