A Report on the Faculty Council Meeting No. (595)
Faculty Council No. (595) was held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at exactly ten o'clock in the morning in the Faculty Council meeting hall, headed by Professor Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, and attended by: Faculty Vice Deans, Heads of Academic Departments, Directors of Specific Programs, and a number of experienced full-time faculty members.
Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy opened the session by expressing his thanks and appreciation to members of the Faculty Council for their active participation and efforts during the academic year 2023/2024.
- He stressed the need for all members of the faculty to participate in the Government Excellence visit.
-He thanked Dr. Bishoy El-Kis and his team responsible for the Government Excellence file for their great efforts in this regard.
- He congratulated the faculty members whose terms as heads of academic departments or heads of program directors were renewed, and those who held other administrative positions.
- He offered words of condolence to all those whose relatives had recently passed away.
- He praised a number of activities that took place at the faculty during the recent period, such as: the participation of Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean of the faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, in holding a number of seminars and workshops at the faculty and external participations in this field, such as participating in the 2024 Annual Pathology Conference at the Faculty of Medicine.
-He also praised the student activities and projects that took place recently, and the activities that took place at the faculty, such as the competition to select the best administrative employee, holding the fourth Student Engineering Projects Exhibition, the extent of the contribution of the Road Engineering Laboratory in developing road construction technology using plastic waste to improve the properties of asphalt mixtures, holding the workshop entitled "How to Write Research Projects" held by Dr. Mostafa El-Bahlol, and the trip of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Program to the Luban Workshop at the Faculty of Engineering - Ain Shams University, the field visit that took place to the SHENO factory for metal furniture for students of the Department of Production Engineering, and the activities of the training program in the field of MEP contracting works, and the activities of the TechnoKids children's course for the children of faculty members and employees of the college as well as the outside community. About the Decent Life activities, free scholarships for students of specific programs, the USAID scholarship program, the graduation ceremony for the faculty students, batch 2023/2024, the celebration honoring successful high school students from the children of faculty members and the administrative staff of the faculty, and about the scientific journal receiving a rating of 7/7 according to the evaluation of the Supreme Council and the annual citation impact.
- He congratulated Prof. Dr. Adel El-Hadidi on publishing his book internationally, as well as his membership in the National Committee for Solving Egyptian Cotton Problems.
- At the end of the presentation, Prof. El-Badawy congratulated Prof. Dr. Sayed Abu Al-Anwar on publishing his book internationally, honored Prof. Dr. Nehal Fayez Areed for receiving the Women's Incentive Award - Water, Energy and Environmental Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Bishoy El-Kis for receiving the State Incentive Award in Engineering Sciences, and honoring Prof. Dr. Mohamed Attia for receiving Prof. Dr. Sayed Ahmed Othman Award in the field of Structural Engineering for the year 2024, Tanta University, and honoring Dr. Iman El-Gendy for her efforts in the Mechatronics Program for Postgraduate Studies, and honoring Dr. Ahmed Sameh for his efforts as Deputy Director of the Medical Engineering Program, and honoring the victory of two teams of faculty students, as the first team won the Egyptian Programming Competition for University Youth, and the second team from the Department of Computer Engineering won the Cybersecurity Competition. Prof. El-Badawy then moved on to discuss the topics on the agenda and make decisions regarding them with the esteemed members of the Faculty Council.
