Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and the organization of Dr. Mostafa El-Bahloul, Director of the Scientific Research Support Unit, a workshop was held on how to select research points and topics, it was presented by Prof. Dr. / Muhammad Farhat Othman, Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Engineering Physics and Director of the Nanotechnology Center at Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation, on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at eight in the evening via the Microsoft Team application.
A large group of faculty members, supporting staff, and graduate students attended the seminar.

The lecturer presented important information about the basic steps of the research process, some key terms that the researcher must understand. The lecturer explained in detail how to review previous scientific theses and published scientific research in the required field of specialization to extract possible research gaps. He used various practical examples during the lecture, which enriched the discussion and increased its effectiveness. The lecturer provided a set of tips for the audience to facilitate the selection process.
