A Report on a Workshop Entitled: “Skills for writing a CV and Key Aspects to Present Yourself in Personal Interviews”

The Faculty of Engineering organized a workshop on “Skills for Writing a CV and Key Aspects to Present Yourself in Personal Interviews”, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El- Badawy, Interim Dean of the Faculty, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amira Yasin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Doaa Samir, Head of the Alumni Association Committee at Mansoura University and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels for Community Service and Environmental Development, and organized by Assistant Lecturer Abdel Rahman Omar, Director of the Alumni Unit, Faculty of Engineering and coordinator of the University’s Alumni Association Committee, on Monday, March 4, 2024, in Prof. Dr. Al-Saeed Ashour Hall at ten o’clock in the morning.
The workshop was delivered by Hani Abdel Razek, training consultant, Dr. Mohamed Mustafa, director of the student projects unit at the faculty and in the presence of AP. Dr. Mohamed Galal, rapporteur of the university’s Alumni Association Committee, Prof. Osama Hassan, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and a large number of faculty students from Specific programs and scientific departments.
The workshop main aim was to equip attendees with the basics of writing a CV, and how to avoid behavioral errors during a personal interview, in order to assist in acceptance and obtain a job opportunity for applicants for a specific position.
Several topics were clarified during the workshop, the most important of which are: the different parts of a CV, priorities for writing them, how to present the different parts of the CV in a way that highlights the skills and excellence of the applicant for the job, and preparing for the personal interview, such as paying attention to smart appearance and good manners. Balanced behavior during the interview, which provides a positive impression of the applicant for the position, the necessity of the research process and gathering information about the company to which the applicant is applying, before the personal interview.
At the end of the workshop, the door was opened for discussion, where the faculty students raised some questions and inquiries which were answered with the necessary clarifications. All attendees praised the highly informative workshop, which provided them with information and skills needed in writing a CV and passing personal interviews.
