The Faculty Council No. (587)
was held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at exactly two-thirty in the afternoon in the faculty council meeting room, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of the University, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud Al-Badawi, interim dean of the faculty, Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedqi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amira Yasin Heikal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, heads of scientific departments, directors of specific programs, and a number of faculty members.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Al-Badawi opened the session by welcoming Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, and all the attendees.
The President of the University praised holding the session in the Faculty of Engineering in view of the faculty’s long standing and prestigious place. He extended his thanks to Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, for his great achievements during his tenure as dean of the faculty. He also extended his thanks to the vice deans, members of the faculty council, and all faculty members.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University acquainted the esteemed attendees that this procedural session is about implementing the legal procedures regarding nominees who will apply for the position of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. These procedures have been implemented, starting with identifying the names of those wishing to run for the position of Dean of the Faculty from within the faculty council - members wishing to be nominated from outside the faculty council will be added - then a vote was taken to choose a faculty representative in the faculty selection committee, one of whom was an original candidate and the second was a reserve candidate.
Then, Prof. Dr. Sherif Al-Badawi, interim dean of the faculty, began the activities of the Faculty Council, discussing the topics included in the agenda, making decisions regarding them with the distinguished members of the faculty council.
