The Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University Hosts Launching the Second Activity of the "Understand - Share" Initiative Together to Combat Corruption

The second activity of the "Understand - Share" initiative, together to combat corruption, began on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, with a symposium on "Governance and Anti-Corruption - Mechanisms and How to Implement" at the Faculty of Engineering, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater - President of Mansoura University, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meligy - Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, supervised by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim - Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Sahar Sidqi - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Samah Hafez - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Community Service Affairs and “Anti-Corruption” team leader.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim highlighted the importance of these initiatives in spreading awareness, he mentioned the various types of corruption, including those related to work environment and the scientific field, with reference to our current situation. Prof. Dr. Samir Aboul Fotouh, elaborated how to use modern technologies to eliminate corruption, tax evasion, financial and administrative corruption, he noted moral corruption through the use of mechanisms and technologies in an immoral manner, and reviewed appropriate mechanisms to combat corruption in accordance with governance mechanisms.
Engineer Tharwat Fath Al-Bab, a member of the Senate, referred to the blessing of security, safety and expertise that Egypt enjoys, he encouraged the continuation of reforms because of their impact on future generations, and the tangible changes and reforms that will occur. Major General Dr. Abdelwahab Al-Raey referred to the importance of the fight against corruption and that it must be carried out with the participation of civil society with state institutions, the fight against all types of corruption in order to achieve progress. Dr. Ibrahim El Gohary, Assistant Professor of Accounting and a member of the Anti-Corruption Team, referred to governance as the most important priority in fighting corruption and eliminating it and its causes as a good administration based on transparency, participation, combating corruption, achieving justice and non-discrimination.
