An important scientific event took place on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, where a conference was held to activate the cooperation agreement between Mansoura Engineering and Louisville University in the United States.

The conference was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basit, President of the University, and the recruitment, hosting and implementation of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

The events of the conference were attended by : Prof. Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basset, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Essam El-Kurdi, President of El Alamein International University, Prof. Emmanuel Colin, Dean of Engineering at the University of Louisville, Prof. Dr. Ayman El-Baz, Head of the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Louisville, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Al-Nanay, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Alamein University.

The conference was held in two consecutive sessions, one with the faculty members and the second with the students. A field visit was taken to a number of the faculty’s laboratories, some of which were developed and the others are newly established, as well as a visit to the places that the Faculty of Engineering is unique in. Members of the group praised what they saw and what they found of a revolution, rather a revolution of innovations and achievements that occurred in the faculty during its last era.

The activities of the closing session of the conference took place in the presence of the attendees and the UofL delegation. The session was under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, the management of Prof. Dr. Hossam El Din Mostafa, and in the presence of a huge number of students from both the Faculty of Engineering and also from the Faculty of Computers and information Sciences. It was clarified to the students that the programs agreed upon through the cooperation agreement allow the student to study the first two years at the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, and then travel to Louisville University in America to complete his studies there.

It is also possible for the student, after the completion of the first two years of study in Mansoura Engineering, to be transferred to Al-Alamein University to study there through the University of Louisville instead of going to America in order to save travel and accommodation expenses.

If the student travels to study in the states, the University of Louisville will provide him with a job opportunity in industrial companies in return for a rewarding financial return to support him in his study and living expenses.

The door was opened for questions of the students, and they were answered with the necessary clarifications.

The concluding session of the conference ended with taking photos and also with hope to achieve the goal of the agreement, which is the student’s interest in line with the needs of the educational labor market and in a manner that achieves the ambition of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, which is to seek and not accept a position that is not expected and achieve Leadership.
