Mansoura University Honors Distinguished Alumnus

 The Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University celebrates one of its standout graduates, Consultant Engineer Ezzat Ibrahim El-Sayyad. He earned his degree in Mechanical Power Engineering from the faculty in 1979, achieving a Very Good overall grade.

Professional Leadership Roles
Ezzat Ibrahim El-Sayyad advanced through key positions in Egypt's drinking water and sanitation sector. He served as Head of the Mansoura Sector for Drinking Water and Wastewater from 2001 to 2009, then as Chairman and Managing Director for companies in Sohag, Aswan, Menoufia, Dakahlia, and Beheira from 2009 to 2019. Since 2019, he has advised the Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater.

Major Infrastructure Achievements
His tenure brought transformative projects to resolve longstanding issues. In Mansoura, he oversaw the design and execution of main sewage tunnels and pumping stations, fixing drainage in areas like Gadila, Qolongeel, El-Magzar, and Sandoub. He also delivered Meet Khamis drinking water plant and trunk lines, eliminating shortages in Mansoura City and supporting nearby villages, while upgrading networks in Dakahlia for better service.
Institutional and International Impact
El-Sayyad founded an ISO-certified Regional Training Center at Dakahlia Water Company, forging ties with Mansoura University's Faculty of Engineering to ready students for work. He collaborated with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and African Development Bank on rural sanitation initiatives, shaped Egypt's national rural sanitation strategy, and contributed to regulations and a proposed law for the sector.
