Report on a Lecture Entitled: The Process and Results of Creative Sustainable Interior Design Workshops at Vilniaus kolegija (VIKO)
In the framework of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University’s keenness to enhance international cooperation and exchange academic and research expertise, within the activities of the Department of Architectural Engineering and the Sustainable Architecture Program, and in coordination with the International Relations Office at Mansoura University, a distinguished scientific lecture was held under the title:
The process and results of creative Sustainable Interior Design workshops at Vilniaus kolegija
The lecture took place on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM in Rashad El-Badrawy Hall, Faculty of Engineering – Mansoura University.
The lecture was presented by:
• Mr. Jaroslav Daveiko, Lecturer in the Interior Design program at Vilniaus kolegija of Applied Sciences, Lithuania, attended by Ms. Milda Kalyte, representative of the International Relations Office at Vilniaus kolegija.
The lecture provided a comprehensive review of the activities and outcomes of the creative workshops in the field of sustainable interior design implemented at Vilniaus kolegija. It focused on the practical and innovative aspects of designing interior spaces according to sustainability and environmental principles.
The event was attended by distinguished faculty members and students from the Department of Architectural Engineering and the Sustainable Architecture Program, including:
• Prof. Amira Yaseen Heikal – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs
• Prof. Mohamed Shawky Abu Leila – Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering and Director of the Sustainable Architecture Program
• Dr. Ahmed Salah – Lecturer in the Department of Architectural Engineering
• Dr. Mahmoud Abdullah – Coordinator of Tourism Programs, International Relations Office
The lecture had a significant positive impact, as it provided an opportunity for students and faculty members to learn about recent international experiences in sustainable interior design and creative thinking approaches in developing architectural solutions that consider the environment and society. The teams from both universities also took a tour of several laboratories and the building of specialized programs.
At the conclusion of the event, the attendees expressed their appreciation for this initiative, which reflects the faculty’s commitment to opening horizons for international cooperation and providing diverse expertise that enriches the educational and research process, contributing to supporting the faculty’s vision for academic excellence and global openness.
