Within the framework of the keenness of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, to achieve continuous and successive progress in the Faculty of Engineering at the various levels, whether educational, research or community, he held an extensive meeting with the supporting staff in Prof. Dr. Rashad El-Badrawy Conference Hall Today, Monday, July 17, 2023, where His Excellency explained the ethics of behavior and work performance that members of the assistant staff must display, who will be faculty members in the future, the bearer of the lofty message, in order to ensure the continuity of this decent level for the member of the assistant staff and to ensure the continuity of the advancement of the faculty, he announced holding a competition for the members of the assistant staff to create a commendable competitiveness among them in order to show the positive aspects in them on the grounds that they bear the banner of work in the future, he designed an evaluation form consisting of several criteria, each criterion consisting of a number of points, in addition to the formation of a committee composed of: Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shaaban, Prof. Dr. Abed Nasr, and Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Qalla, for evaluation and selection.

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, the Faculty of Engineering witnessed today, Wednesday, July 19, 2023, the second training day for a large number of faculty members, supporting staff and the administrative staff on qualifying for the ISO specification in the energy management systems of 50001 ISO: 2018, with a lecture delivered by Dr. Tariq Rizk Shalaby, Millennium Company Consultant, in order to train and educate all employees of the faculty on the specification of energy excellence, where he explained in detail a number of axes, the most important of which are: the contents of the energy management system, the steps for implementing the energy management system, and the conditions that must be met in the faculty to obtain the ISO 50001 certificate, in addition to the stages of internal and external audit, what is the positive return on the faculty after obtaining it, and how to follow a specific approach to measure and follow up the amount of energy used by the faculty.

The Faculty Council meeting No. (582) was held on Monday, July 17, 2023 at exactly ten o’clock in the morning in Prof. Dr. Rashad El Badrawy Conference Hall, where the council was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, and in the presence of faculty vice deans, heads of departments, program directors and representatives of some institutions of the external community.
The session was opened by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, where his Excellence:
- Started the meeting by welcoming the esteemed council members.
- Offered words of lamentation and sincere condolences for the death of those who passed away: Prof. Dr. Abdel Latif Al-Husseini, Department of Spinning and Textile Engineering, Prof. Dr. Jamal Sultan, former head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, who died while performing his work yesterday in the faculty, and the wife of Prof. Dr. Magdy Samuel, Director of the Technical Workshops Unit, Mr. Sameh Fayez, Mechanics Laboratories, and the student Abdel Rahman, Department of Computer and Systems Engineering.
- Extended his warm wishes and sincere congratulations on the occasion of the new Hijri year and the anniversary of the July 23 revolution.
-Talked about his meeting with members of the faculty administrative staff.
- Referred to the summer training camp for students of the University Scholarship Program.
-Explained what has been done with regard to research projects funded by the Arizona Energy Excellence Agreement.
- Mentioned the summer activity of the Technolides Team at the Nile Club, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abeer Tawakul, Director of the Medical Engineering Program for Postgraduate Studies.
- Talked about the visit of Prof. Dr. Tamer Al-Nadi, the technical advisor for the energy excellence agreement that was concluded.
- Briefed the attendees about the faculty's annual report.
-Explained the mechanism for summer courses registration, as well as the nominations of the subcommittees for the academic year 2023/2024.
- Informed the audience that a competition will be held for all members of the assisting staff through a jury based on several criteria that have been set in order to select the best three members of the assisting staff, and three financial prizes will be given to them by the faculty.
- Confratulated Prof. Dr. Osama Rawy, on his promotion to a professor.
- Promised the managers of quality programs, with a recent financial increase.
- Honored Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahdi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, for reaching the age of retirement, expressing his sincere thanks and great appreciation for his work as a vice dean of students for the faculty, wishing him success, and a fruitful future ahead, God willing.
-Honored each of Dr. Mohamed Ragab, Dr. Mohamed Sami, Dr. Mohamed Rizk, Dr. Mohamed Awad, Dr. Mohamed Jar El Alam, Dr. Mahmoud Sami, for their excellency winning research projects.
- Congratulated the student, Mustafa Nasser, Department of Production Engineering and Mechanical Design, where he offered him words of motivation and support, and presented him with a certificate of honor for winning the Hult Prize competition for reaching the final stage in the competition for the best campus manager, and Mr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Director of the Procurement and Supply Department, for reaching the age of retirement.
Then, His Excellency moved to discuss the topics on the agenda and took decisions regarding them with the members of the esteemed Faculty Council.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the faculty, meet with the administrative staff of the faculty, in the presence and participation of Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for the Environment, and Dr. Nasser Al-Badawihi, Director General of the Faculty, today, Wednesday, July 5, 2023, in Prof. Dr. Rashad El-Bedrawy Conference Hall, at exactly eleven o’clock before noon.
Prof. Abdel-Azim began the meeting by welcoming the attendees and congratulating them on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, then he discussed various issues: where he indicated that a system of rewards is being developed, so that every individual in the faculty’s administrative staff enjoys it from the output of resources. He stressed the need to redouble the efforts exerted in performing work to overcome the discrepancies in the work system, which is the continuous increase in the burden of the work wheel with limited and even decreasing numbers of employees. To qualify a second row of employees in each department to take responsibility for work in the future, His Excellency has stressed that the work wheel within the Faculty of Engineering is not limited to managing the administrative affairs only, but also its teaching staff, assistant staff, students and employees, the faculty of engineering is performing its role, which is to support and integrate the institutions of the external community and also as a positive and supportive cog in the national projects.

Within the framework of the Energy Excellence Agreement between the University of Arizona in the United States and Egyptian universities (Ain Shams, Mansoura and Aswan), a working visit was made by Prof. Dr. Tamer Al-Nadi, the technical advisor for the Energy Excellence Center to the Faculty of Engineering. The visit program began with a protocol meeting in the office of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the faculty, in the presence and participation of Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Director of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering Program, and Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawi, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, then an extensive meeting was held in Prof. Dr. Rashad El-Badrawy Conference Hall, attended by a large number of faculty members, assistant staff, and students, in which Prof. Dr. Tamer El-Nadi talked about how to apply for research projects funded by USAID through the Energy Excellence Agreement, he explained the financing mechanisms, and the type of projects that must be submitted. He also talked about the student exchange program and the preference criteria for choosing among students applying to travel to study at the University of Arizona.
Then the faculty members who won research projects were honored in the presence and participation of Dr. Mohamed Mustafa, Director of the Research Projects Support Unit, and the students who received student exchange grants were also honored. Prof. Dr. Vice-Dean of the faculty for Environment, Prof. Dr. Technical Advisor for the Energy Excellence Agreement and all the attendees went on an inspection tour of a number of the faculty's laboratories related to the Energy Excellence Agreement, where they were seen in complete readiness in preparation for their contribution to the completion of the research or studies that will be conducted in them.
At the end of the visit tour, a meeting was held in the office of Prof. Dr. Dean of the faculty, where he expressed his full readiness to provide full and unlimited support for the Energy Excellence Agreement and to achieve the positive revenue expected to be gained from it, because of its great impact on the future of the current generation and future generations, and on a clean environment that we hope to live in.

In terms of national participation and in continuation of the community role of the Faculty of Engineering that seeks to reduce the burden of the Egyptian state on the energy side, the Council of the Faculty of Engineering headed by Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, has decided to approve the training of all employees of the Faculty of Engineering on the Energy Management System ISO 50001: 2018. In order to activate this, the first training lectures were held today, Tuesday, July 18, 2023, for a large number of faculty members, the supporting staff, and the administrative staff, by Prof. Dr. Tariq Shalaby, the office consultant, in charge of training and educating all faculty employees on how to optimally deal with energy and learn about the positive return as a result, in addition to expanding this because of its good impact on our current generation and the fruit of that on our children in future generations, reducing harmful heat emissions and providing a clean healthy environment.
