Competition for architecture students to design the faculty new library.
Today, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, a competition was held for students of the Department of Architecture to design the faculty new library. Prof. Dr. Sherif Al-Badawi, dean of the faculty, evaluated the proposals submitted by the students, in the presence and participation of Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedqi, the faculty’s vice dean for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Amira Yasin vice dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and a number of faculty members in the Department of Architecture, under the supervision of Dr. Israa Al-Azab and Dr. Ahmed Salah, Department of Architecture

The Egyptian Society for Environmental Sciences announces to all academics and researchers at home and abroad holding the eighth international conference under the title “Scientific Research and Sustainable Development,” which will be held at Suez Canal University in Ismailia on February 24, 2024 until February 25, which will include a large number of activities.

Accepted will be published in Caterina, the international journal of environmental sciences, which publishes research in English by the Egyptian Society for Environmental Sciences. Caterina publishes research works covering all aspects of ecology and environmental sciences in relation to the evaluation, use and conservation of natural resources.

A report on the oral interviews for the internal funded project to enrich scientific research and improve opportunities for obtaining funded research projects at the faculty.

Second call 2023/2024
the second day

Within the framework of the Faculty of Engineering’s keenness to enrich scientific research and support faculty staff members in obtaining internal funded projects, on Sunday, 31/12/2023 under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Al-Badawi, interim Dean of the Faculty, and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, organization of Dr. Mustafa Al-Bahloul - Director of the Scientific Research Support Unit, second day interviews, internal funded project- the second call for the academic year 2023/2024, took place in Pioneers Hall - the administrative building.

The arbitration was conducted by a committee composed of professors:
⁃ Prof. Dr. Tamer Abu Al-Saad, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Postgraduate Studies and Research. (Chairman of the Committee)
⁃ Prof. Dr. Abed Mohamed Nasr, Department of Mathematics and Engineering Physics. (Member)
⁃ Prof. Dr. Osama Badie Abu Al-Atta, Department of Production Engineering and Mechanical Design. (Member)

Professors participating in the first call gave a detailed presentation on the results of the projects which were submitted, they mainly aim to use clean energy and recycled materials that avoid environmental pollution. The topics revolved around the consumption of solar energy in charging electric cars, desalination, water disinfection and recycling of butamine used in road paving to improve road efficiency as well as using potential energy to light roads, this aims to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030 and achieve sustainable development.
The meetings took place inside the hall, and professors on scholarship outside Egypt were also met via the Internet, from Hong Kong and Russia, in order to enrich scientific research in cooperation with foreign universities.
Professors, members of the judging committee, expressed the competence and excellence of the applicants for the projects.
The meetings have witnessed various participations from different departments in the Faculty of Engineering.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud Al-Badawi, interim Dean of the Faculty, presented certificates of appreciation to the professors and members of the committee, in appreciation of the effort they made in conducting oral interviews over a period of two weeks.

The faculty council No. (588) was held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at ten o’clock in the morning in the Faculty Council meeting room, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Sherif Masoud Al-Badawi, interim dean of the faculty, and in the presence of the faculty vice deans, heads of scientific departments, and directors of specific programs.
The session was opened by welcoming the attendees, then:
⁃ Prof. Dr. Sherif wished all the attendees a happy New Year, and a Merry Christmas.
⁃ Offered words of condolence for the death of the wife of Professor Dr. Ali Al-Boz and the mother of Dr. Mustafa Ali Al-Boz, the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
⁃ Congratulated some faculty members for their promotion.
⁃ Presented the timetable for nominating the position of dean of the faculty.
⁃ Thanked the organizers of MEPCON Conference for their outstanding efforts in organizing the conference, and success of it.
⁃ Briefed the attendees on the workshop on the legal aspects of examination work for faculty members and the supporting staff, which aimed to acquire legal information that would facilitate and control examinations.
⁃ Talked about the visit of Prof. Dr. Ashraf El-Damaty, Professor of Civil Engineering at Western University in Canada, regarding the dual doctorate agreement between Mansoura Engineering and Western Engineering.
⁃ Presented what was done regarding the oral interviews of applicants for the internal funded project to enrich scientific research and improve opportunities for obtaining research projects funded by the faculty.
⁃ Mentioned honoring Mr. Ihab Mustafa, the former finance officer at the faculty, on the occasion of reaching retirement age.
⁃ Referred to the celebration of the Career Development Center volunteers.
⁃ Talked about the “ Hybrid Coastal Structures with Wave Energy Converters” workshop.
⁃ Praised the Architecture Department’s exhibition, which was held to display student proposals for designing the new faculty library.
⁃ Spoke about the visit of Prof. Dr. President of the University, to inspect the central student building.
⁃ Presented what was done regarding concluding a cooperation protocol between the faculty and the Wedge Clothes Factory, mentioning the benefit accruing to the faculty as a result of concluding and activating this protocol.
⁃ praised the winning of the Blue Sirens team from Mansoura University in the Innovators Support Fund, the Robo Soccer competition, the organization of Mansoura Robotics team, and the winning of our students in the qualifying round for the Huawei IT exam.
⁃ Clarified the annual citation transactions in the Faculty Scientific journal.
Then He moved on to discuss the topics on the agenda and make decisions regarding them with the members of the esteemed Faculty Council.

Professor Dr. Sherif Masoud Al-Badawi, interim dean of the Faculty of Engineering, wishes the staff of the Faculty of Engineering and Mansoura University a happy new year, praying to God to make it a prosperous year filled with success, goodness, security and peace for our beloved Egypt and its great people.
