I have the honor to report that the Supreme Council of Universities discussed in its session held on 25/10/2021, the follow-up to the vaccination process against the emerging corona virus in Egyptian Universities, and the Council decided to emphasize the universities with the following:

1. Continuing the daily follow-up to the process of vaccinating all elements of the educational system against the corona virus, in implementation of the directives and assignments issued in this regard and the decisions of the Crisis Committee, to limit the spread of the Corona virus in universities, with the review and scrutiny of universities for students’ position on vaccination starting from the 1st of next November. Emphasizing that students are not allowed to enter the university campus after November 15, except after submitting a certificate proving that they have obtained the vaccine, and in the event that the student does not receive the vaccine, s/he can perform a “PCR” analysis that s/he submits weekly.
2. Full compliance with the decisions of the Crisis Committee, with regard to not allowing employees of state institutions to enter their headquarters, starting from November 15, except for those who have received the vaccination against the Corona virus.

3. The need for universities to continue to apply all precautionary measures, and to adhere to social distancing for all those inside the university campus, as well as to intensify disinfection and sterilization operations for rooms, classrooms, laboratories and various faculty buildings; and applying the same procedures in university dorms, to ensure the safety of all elements of the educational system.

The first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Graduate Follow-up Unit was held in its current session 2021/2022, on Wednesday, 20/10/2021 under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Chairman of the Unit. The meeting was under supervision of Pro. Dr. Sahar Sidki Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and the Vice-Chairman of the Unit’s Board of Directors.

Prof. Dr. Sahar initiated the meeting by presenting words of welcome to the members of the unit’s board of directors, wishing them success in their mission towards the unit and advancing it in order to achieve the desired goals towards the faculty graduates. Prof. Sahar expressed her full support and welcomed any new ideas to present atypical proposals as long as they ultimately serve the interest of the faculty graduates as ambassadors of the faculty in the foreign labor market.

Dr. Asmaa El Awadi, the Director of the Unit spoke about presenting the topics on the agenda, including presenting a plan for developing and improving the unit, defining the duties of the members of the unit’s board of directors, presenting the activities carried out by the unit in the previous period, followed by agreement on a number of recommendations, including: The necessity of presenting a mechanism to motivate the students and graduates participating in the unit, work on marketing the unit more effectively, and pay attention to field training for graduates within distinguished companies and factories as well as training within the faculty such as the Studies Center, and the necessity of the participation of industrialists in its board of directors, holding seminars, workshops and specialized seminars that benefit students and graduates .

Library preparations for the academic year 2021-2022:

1- Preparing the library halls to receive freshmen,  and visitors.    

2- Reviewing the arrangement of books according to the desktop layout to facilitate both types of borrowing operations.

3- The library observes social distancing among students according to the precautionary measures followed.

4- A letter was sent to the college director general to support the library with means of prevention as:  alcohol, hand sanitizers and masks.

5- A letter was sent to the follow-up unit to periodically cleanse the library weekly.

6- Preparing a statement for students who wish to obtain borrowing membership in the library and register them.

Library Plan for the Academic Year 2021-2022:

1- Participation of the library in the reception of new students in room 23, introducing them to the library and distributing membership forms.

2- Organizing a student meeting for students every Monday of every week in the library’s reading room to introduce how to join the Knowledge Bank and how to benefit from its services.

3- The student meeting will be announced on the faculty website.

4- The library provided the WhatsApp Service,  to speed the communication with students and staff members.

5- Preparing for a workshop on intellectual property rights.

6- Addressing the Director General of Libraries to hold workshops for faculty members and their assistants on scientific research engines, global databases and the knowledge bank.

7- As  the university’s plan to train university employees, several courses were selected for the library’s employees, and the form was sent to the Personnel Affairs Department .

• A remarkable day at the Faculty of Engineering, Tuesday, 26 October 2021. A day full of bright and shining achievements. The fruits of brainstorming, sincere and distinguished efforts were reaped. A day that witnessed the love of the entity. It has also witnessed the follow-up, and unlimited support from Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, who masters the art of management and accuracy of performance follow-up. The achievements proved his loyalty to where he belongs. He realized that nothing is impossible with the will, desire and the availability of capabilities and sincere intentions.
• He confirmed that the love of the entity is reflected as actions and achievements, not as words or empty slogans. One of the remarkable achievements of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim and his distinguished team work, that will always be a landmark in the history of The Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University.
• Tuesday, October 26, 2021 /19 Rabi' Al-Awwal 1443 AH, the day of the opening of the fourth phase of structural development at the Faculty of Engineering , Mansoura University, the great day of achievements in the history of the faculty.
• The activities of the celebration ceremony of the opening were launched in honor of the presence and participation of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basit, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty in the Conference Hall.
• The opening was in the presence and participation of the faculty’s vice-deans, laboratories’ directors, members of the Board of Directors, a number of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, and a number of industrialists, with media coverage from a number of satellite channels, radio and a number of well known newspapers.
• Prof. Dr. / Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty gave a quick presentation about the achievements that will be opened, then Prof. Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basset, President of the University, expressed his sincere appreciation to the Faculty of Engineering, and to the attendees. The opening round began, starting with the passage to the Physics Complex, the Chemistry Complex, the Robotics lab, the Precision Measurements lab, the Medical Devices lab, the Mechanical Testing lab, ESU Lab, Design Build lab and Fab Lab. Opening of the three-dimensional chess court and Passage to the hydraulic machines lab.

Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, we have the honor to inform your excellency about the conditions for nomination and application for state awards, including (Nile Awards, State Appreciation Awards, Excellence Award and State Incentive Award) for the year 2021:-

• The applicant must be nominated by universities, centers, institutes, research bodies, or specialized scientific societies.

• The applicant must be engaged in science or advanced technological sciences.

• The applicant should not be among those in charge of these bodies, or chairmen of their boards of trustees, or boards of directors, or from ministers at the time of their assumption of responsibility.

• The candidate must have accepted the nomination, provided that the nominating party submits proof of that.

With regard to the state awards for excellence, it is permissible to nominate for them by the above-mentioned bodies. Individuals have the right to apply directly for one of the state awards for excellence, encouragement, or encouragement woman.

6. The Woman Appreciation Award for one of Egypt's top women scientists who has scientific, social and economic achievements.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering welcomed freshmen enrolled in the Construction Program, an extensive meeting in the faculty conference hall was held with the students,  in  the presence of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahdi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Zughaibi, Program Director, and Deputy Program Coordinator.

During the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty welcomed the students and provided them with words of motivation. The students' inquiries were answered by providing the necessary clarification. The student meeting ended with the presentation of the best and most sincere wishes from the Dean to his students.

The Quality Assurance Unit, Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, organized a training course entitled “Self-Evaluation of Higher Education Institutions”, on Sunday 24/10/2021. It lasted two days. The aim of the course is to qualify and train the faculty’s administrative staff in the field of education quality assurance and accreditation.

The organization of this course is part of a series of training courses organized by the administration of the Faculty of Engineering under the guidance of the Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. / Mohamed Abdel Azim, to qualify and train the administrative staff in the various fields required to develop the work of the faculty.

Photo excerpts of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abd Al-Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering , Mansoura University were taken while honoring the Task Force of The Department of Architecture, for their hard work and outstanding interior design of the Faculty’s Library, this tribute was made to motivate them to be more productive.

       Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the exhibition of specific programs was held on October 11, 2021, in the work space hall, which was built as one of the students’ meeting halls in the specific programs Building.   The aim of the exhibition was to  demonstrate the most important  information about all the new programs, so that the student’s choice to join one of these programs is based on personal conviction.

     This was done in the presence and participation of the directors, deputies and coordinators of these programs represented in: Chemical and Environmental Engineering Program, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Program, Infrastructure Program, Sustainable Architecture Program, Sustainable Water Program, and Artificial Intelligence Program.

The Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, has obtained the Government Excellence Award, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim and the hard work of its staff and employees. The award was granted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, among the top ten out of 488 faculties that applied for the competition.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, chaired the Faculty’s Council No. (561) for the month of October 2021, and the second session of the Council held in its current session for the academic year 2021/2022.

Prof. Dr. Abdel Azim initiated the council meeting by offering a welcome to all the attendees, then he congratulated them on 6th of October victories, Mansoura Air Battle on October 14, 1973, and on the Anniversary of the Birth of the Prophet (PBUH).

Prof. Abdel Azim offered condolences to great symbols who left our world.. He offered words of lament for the death of Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, the former Minister of Defense, and for Professor Mahmoud Mustafa Awad, the former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Mansoura University.

Prof. Abdel Azim also congratulated the promotion and appointment of some faculty members, he commended the efforts of the faculty members who were assigned as unit managers in the faculty and presented some of the workshops and scientific symposia that took place at the faculty.

His Excellency presented a statistic about the numbers that were vaccinated against the Corona virus.

His Eminence briefly explained the preparations for the new academic year 2021/2022 in all aspects, such as developing laboratories and establishing new ones, scientific seminars and workshops that students were invited to attend, beautifying the faculty, taking care of preparing places to exercise, holding a conference for each program and holding an exhibition for specific programs.

His Excellency informed the attendees about changing the regulations and implementing them, whether for scientific departments, accredited programs, or for postgraduate studies, as well as approving the start of the study with the new specific programs that the faculty had previously submitted. His Excellency briefed on the activities that took place in the meetings.

His Excellency mentioned that during the current month of October, a team from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education will attend to review four programs.

His Eminence invited all attendees for next Sunday, October 24, 2021, to participate in the opening of (17) laboratories, a number of these laboratories have been fully developed, and the rest of the laboratories were newly established.

His Excellency clarified the position of the construction operations in the faculty, whether they took place in the third phase or those that will take place in the fourth phase.

His Excellency briefed on the agreement of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, with the Federation of Egyptian Industries, because it has a positive impact on the faculty, such as training and supporting students, as well as supporting the faculty's laboratories.
Then, he moved to discuss the topics on the agenda and the council's agreement to take decisions on them.

Minutes of the Scientific Conference of the Electrical Engineering Department 2021

The Scientific Conference of the Electrical Engineering Department was held on Monday 4/10/2021 at twelve o'clock in the hall of Prof. Dr. Al-Saeed Ashour. The following points were discussed at the conference:

An opening speech by Prof. Dr. Akram Al-Metwally, Head of the Department Council, which included welcoming the attendees and presenting the conference agenda in addition to the study plan for the new academic year 2021/2021 and the importance of taking the Corona vaccine so that students and staff can enter the university campus.

A speech by Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, in which she spoke about the Department of Electrical Engineering and the programs emanating from it: The Electrical Power and Machinery Engineering Program and the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Program, which is an updated program with a credit-hour system, and it is a program between electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.
The speech included the merits of each program and the job opportunities available to graduates of those programs.

Prof. Dr. Eid Abdel-Baqi Gouda's speech about project funding opportunities, whether research projects or student projects, he also urged students to apply for these grants and ways to apply for them.

Dr. Mohamed Rizk's speech about the project to bridge the gap between the old regulation 2005 and the new regulation 2020, which was aimed at providing the old students with the knowledge and skills they need to raise their scientific and skill proficiency in accordance with the new regulation.

Dr. Abdel Hadi Ghanem's speech on the history of the Department of Electrical Engineering and the distinctive features of the department and how to maintain and upgrade these features for further progress.
Opening the door for questions and discussion with the attendees: It included discussion with the teaching staff, the supporting staff, and the students.

Dr. Syed Abu Al-Anwar's speech on scientific leadership, during which he explained how the scientific leadership groups work, the role of the scientific leader, how to communicate between students, the responsibilities of the scientific leader and the file of scientific leadership.

Prof. Dr. Akram Al-Metwally's speech about the different systems of postgraduate studies, whether diplomas, master's or doctoral degrees, the conditions of progress and admission to each degree and the advantages of each degree.

In addition to the department's research systems, which included high voltage engineering, new and renewable energy, and the operation of power systems and electrical machines.

The speech also included the summer training system, whether internal training or external training, on how to progress and evaluate the summer training and the date of holding those evaluations.

A closing speech by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Eid, the quality coordinator of the program, in which he thanked the staff of the departments, the teaching staff, the assisting staff, the outstanding students and the Quality Assurance Unit in the department, with the presentation of certificates of appreciation for the outstanding models from the supporting staff and the outstanding students, along with taking some memorial photos.
The conference ended at half past one in the afternoon.
