The Faculty of Engineering – Mansoura University held the orientation day for first-year students and their families on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Prof. Magdy Abu Rayan auditorium.

The event began with the national anthem, followed by recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, marking the official start of the special gathering. The students and their families were warmly welcomed by Prof. Sherif El-Badawi, Dean of the Faculty, along with Prof. Sahar Sedky, Coordinator of Specific Programs, department heads, program directors and their deputies, faculty members, the general manager of the faculty, and directors of administrative departments responsible for student services.

In his welcome speech, the Dean addressed the students and their families, expressing gratitude and appreciation for their efforts and determination, which earned them the achievement of joining the Faculty of Engineering. He gave a thorough presentation about university life, the departments and programs of the faculty, and the wide range of student activities. He emphasized the college administration’s commitment to supporting students by providing a comprehensive educational environment based on cooperation, openness, continuous communication, engagement in student activities, holding regular meetings, appointing academic advisors, and adopting an “open door” policy.

Following the Dean’s speech, program directors introduced their respective programs and future career prospects, offering useful advice and guidance to help the students integrate smoothly into university life. The speakers, in order of appearance, were Prof. Sahar Sedky, former Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and General Coordinator of Specific Programs; Assoc. Prof. Abdel Fattah El-Adl, Director of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering Program; Assoc. Prof. Mohamed Ghnam, Director of the Construction and Building Engineering Program; Assoc. Prof. Sherif Sheta, Director of the Sustainable Architecture Engineering Program; Assoc. Prof. Islam Sheta, Director of the Biomedical Engineering Program; Assoc. Prof. Abeer Tawakkol, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Program; Assoc. Prof. Osama Hamed, Director of the Mechatronics Engineering Program; Assoc. Prof. Mohamed Sabry, Student Activities Coordinator; Capt. Ahmed Abu Elkheir, Director of Student Welfare Administration; student Abdullah Tharwat, former Vice President of the Student Union; Mr. Karim Shawky, Director of the Study and Examinations Administration; and Ms. Rania Hafez, Director of Student Affairs for Specific Programs. Then, student Nouran Mahmoud Omar from the Artificial Intelligence Program shared her successful experience of traveling to Japan, supported by the faculty. Assoc. Prof. Mahmoud Saafan, Director of the university’s Intilaq company, also spoke during the event.

The event was further enlivened by a short theatrical performance that brought joy and engagement among attendees. The gathering concluded with a group photograph of the new cohort alongside the Dean and faculty members, followed by a guided tour inside the faculty’s laboratories and distinguished facilities.

The new students and their families expressed great happiness and appreciation for the warm reception, praising the organization and efforts invested, affirming their eagerness for a motivated start to their academic journey at the Faculty of Engineering – Mansoura University.
