The Activities of the First Day of the Training Course Entitled: "Energy Management System - ISO 50001:2018"
Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty, the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO),the activities of the first day of the training course “Energy Management System” took place on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, in the Faculty Conference Hall. The course is scheduled to take place from(29/3/2022 till 31/3/2022).
Engineer Rabab Manea, an expert on energy management systems at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, lectured in the first day in the presence of a number of faculty members from various departments, especially renewable energy program, sustainable energy program, electrical engineering department, electronics and communications engineering department, mechanical engineering department , and a large number of fourth, third and second year students from the department of electrical engineering.
Several topics have been addressed during the explanation of the activities of the training course on the first day, the most important of which are: giving a general idea about the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, a general introduction to energy management systems and ISO 50001:2018 versions, the advantages and obstacles of energy management application systems, and the benefits that accrue to different sectors whether industrial, commercial or domestic from the application of energy management systems. The vision and strategy of the Egyptian state to preserve the planet and protect it from the current climate changes, determine the policy of institutions by placing the application of energy management systems as one of the priorities for their application, identifying the relevant stakeholders in applying the energy management system.The exchange between these parties and these institutions regarding the implementation of the energy management system, and one of the elements of success is the start of energy intensive consumers.
