Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, congratulates both student, Ali Ismail Muhammad for his selection as president of the University Students’ Union, and student, Abdul-Rahman Reda Ali for his selection as the president of the Faculty Students’ Union. Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, and in coordination with Dr. Mohamed Sabry, Director of the University Center for Career Development, the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University hosted a seminar by Cad cam and Solidworks companies.
The seminar was held in the presence and participation of officials of both the Cad Cam company and representatives of the Solidworks company in Africa and the Middle East, a large number of faculty students from all disciplines were present, on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at twelve o'clock in the afternoon in Prof. Dr. Magdy Abu Rayan amphitheater.
The seminar began with the speech of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, where he affirmed his full support for his students which is obvious in providing them with all their needs to become professional graduates of Mansoura Engineering, keeping pace with the requirements of the regional and even global labor market. He also stressed that studying in faculties of engineering should not only be limited to academic study and equations, but students should learn how to work efficiently by paying attention to the practical side and merging with international practical and technological academies.
On the part of the company officials, it was clarified what the solidwork program is, as it is a three-dimensional application that works under the Microsoft Windows environment. This program is used by more than 2 million engineers and 160,000 companies around the world, it is a design program approved by international companies and research agencies, as well. This program is specialized in designing three-dimensional geometric figures and is easy to deal with.
It was also clarified by cad cam engineers what is meant by the term cad, which is an acronym for computer aided design, meaning computer-aided design and making modifications to the design or performing analytical operations through it, to clarify what is meant by the term CAM, which is an acronym for computer aided manufacturing, meaning computer-assisted operation, so that the programming engineer has to choose the appropriate CNC numerical control machine, then arrange the manufacturing operations, and then the operating stages.
The officials in charge of CAD-CAM also said that they provide the most powerful training programs.

The Faculty Council No. (575) was held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, with the honor of the presence of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, where he presided over the Faculty Council, with the utmost welcome, the greatest appreciation, the highest meanings and words of thanks from Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim to his Excellency, in the presence of: Vice deans, heads of scientific departments, directors of specific programs, and representatives of some institutions of the external community.
The session was opened by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, where his Excellency:
- Started the meeting by welcoming Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, for honoring the faculty by attending and participating in the Faculty Council, in addition to offering sincere congratulations and good wishes to him on the occasion of the Republican decision to appoint him as President of Mansoura University. He also welcomed all the attending members of the Faculty Council.
-Gave words of lamentation for the death of Anba Dawoud, Bishop of Mansoura, Prof. Dr. Jabr Abdel Salam, Professor of Electrical Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Omar Al Shehabi, Former Dean of the Faculty of Science.
- Congratulated some faculty members for promotion, namely: Associate Prof. Dr. El-Sayed Abdel-Aal, Department of Structural Engineering, Associate Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ashour, Department of Electronics and Communications, and Associate Prof. Dr. Yehia Mahmoud, Department of Mechanical Power Engineering.
- Congratulated, the student / Ali Ismail for being selected as the president of the University Union, the student / Abd al-Rahman Reda for being selected as the president of the Faculty Union, and the student / Sarah Magdy for being selected the ideal student for the academic year 2022-2023.
- In continuation of the series of honoring the deans of the faculty from 1974 until 2018, his excellency praised the work of all the previous deans.
-Honored Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al-Saeed, the former dean of the faculty, he was given a shield as a gift. A later date was set for those who will be honored later from among the former deans, based on their wish.
- Presented the most important events that took place in his three meetings with, assistant professors, lecturers, and members of the supporting staff.
- Presented the most important instructions given during his meeting with the batch coordinators.
- Explained what happened regarding the visit of a delegation from the Faculty of Engineering to the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
- Mentioned some of what has happened in the faculty to strengthen social relations, such as his Eminence's breakfast with the Center for Studies, and this is on the approach of what happened in the past with the support services personnel and then with the administrative staff.
- Talked about what happened regarding the ideal student competition, and the results achieved to ensure quality and that the slogan of obtaining the first place is worth a lot.
- Explained the beginning of the faculty magazine since 1975 and the huge boom that occurred in it in the recent period, starting in 2019.
- Explained the implementation of the rights = duties platform, and this is something that requires a lot of patience, support and silence, as his sovereignty explained the protocol for discussing scientific theses.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, concluded the introduction to the meeting by offering kind words and expressing what he carries of good feelings and great positive attitudes towards the Faculty of Engineering represented by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, its deputies, its great professors, and the houses of expertise that it possesse, such as the Center for Studies, then Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, presented the shield of the faculty congratulating and honoring his choice as President of Mansoura University.
Later, His Excellency moved to discuss the topics on the agenda and took decisions regarding them with the members of the esteemed Faculty Council.

Within the framework of the keenness of the Faculty of Engineering administration to encourage its students to compete in local and international competitions, the Student Projects Unit is pleased to announce the opening of registration for El Alamein Robotics Championship (ARC), organized by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. It is worth noting that this championship is the first professional robotics championship in the new city of El Alamein, which is the first and largest event of its kind in an event that combines science, technology and tourism in the Middle East and North Africa.

The history of the faculty journal from the cradle to the grave. That many years have passed is not a true measure of the implementation of an achievement, but it is determination, and sincerity motivated by the love of the entity that is the perfect measure for that, proud of what happened on June 2019 to December, 2022,regarding the Journal of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, proud of the reminder of this date, the date that Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdel-Azim, took over as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, forming work teams to implement various achievements.
This is how the Journal of the Faculty of Engineering began since 1975, and thus it was awakened and elevated:
1. In 1975, the Journal of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University was published, first issue was published in 1976. The process of managing and publishing continued on paper until June, 2019.
2. From June, 2019 to May, 2020, the journal was managed semi-digitally through the University's Communication and Information Technology Center: https://mej.mans.edu.eg.
3. Starting from June, 2019 to June, 2020, all issues have been uploaded to the electronic platform of the Scientific Publishing Department at Mansoura University.
4. In July 2020, the evaluation of the specialized engineering journals was issued by the Supreme Council of Universities, and the Faculty of Engineering obtained an evaluation of 6.5 out of a total of 7 degrees, achieving second place among the journals of the engineering sector.
5. Beginning in June, 2020, the journal has been published on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) system. Starting from May 2020, the process was fully managed digitally through the Knowledge Bank platform. https://bfemu.journals.ekb.eg.
6. In July 2021, the second evaluation of the Supreme Council of Universities was issued for specialized engineering journals, and the Faculty of Engineering obtained an evaluation of 7 out of a total of 7 degrees, achieving first place among the engineering sector journals.
7. In April 2022, a contract was signed with the international publishing house Elsevier, the contract was concluded in August of the same year.
8. Since August 2022, a work team has been working to transfer the journal to the Elsevier Publishing House's Digital Commons platform.

A field awareness activity for the Committee of Confronting the Danger of Addiction and Abuse took place at Mansoura University, on Sunday, November 27, 2022, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meligy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Awareness-raising publications were distributed to both students and members of the administrative staff, in addition to explanations about the dangers of addiction and abuse. The role of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction was defined, in providing treatment, and therapeutic channels to quit smoking.
This was done in cooperation between the Committee for Confronting the Risk of Addiction and Abuse headed by Prof. Dr. Sahar Abdel Aziz Al-Dakrouri, Professor of Clinical Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine, and the Addiction and Abuse Combat Fund, with the participation of Mr. Bilal Shaaban, Coordinator of Preventive Activities for the Addiction and Abuse Combat Fund in Dakahlia Governorate.

Mohamed El Faramawy, eng. Mohamed Mustafa and eng. Ahmed Maher. A free training program was explained to a large number of students of the Department of Electrical Engineering, in contracting and electrical designs to develop their skills in accordance with the requirements of the external labor market and work to bridge the gap between academic study and practical application.
In light of the faculty’s interest in developing its scientific journal and in the framework of its endeavor to reach globalism to be included in the international classification databases such as Scopus & Web of science, Mansoura Journal of Engineering Sciences has launched its new website to publish research on Digital Commons (the platform of the international publishing house Elsevier) to resign and arbitrate research using the platform, Editorial Manager. Two successive meetings were held by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, with the faculty staff members.
Two meetings were dominated by commitment and seriousness, and this was evident in the number of attendees. The meetings aimed at providing guidance and correcting some issues with the aim of focusing on how to maximize work in the faculty. The motto of the meeting is “
Rights are equal to Duties”. In the interest of all, two meetings explained how the faculty member presents himself as a role model for students. The meetings aimed at achieving the student's interest by applying standards in everything related to the educational process, encouraging research and scientific publishing.
At the end of each meeting, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized working permanently and with the utmost seriousness to maximize the role and participation of the faculty to keep Mansoura University in its proper place, and even to increase its status, in order to reach the ultimate goal, which is performance, solidarity, and convergence of all. In performing the societal role and distinguished participation in the national projects of the sustainable state plan 2030, due to the unique expertise of faculty members and centers of a special nature, fully prepared and at the highest level.
