The Faculty of Engineering Embraces Its Students: Genuine Support for People of Determination
The Faculty of Engineering at Mansoura University, in its continued commitment to promoting principles of inclusion and comprehensive support for all its students without exception, organized a special introductory lecture at the Center for Special Needs Services on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in Lecture Hall 23 of the Specialized Programs Building.
This important event was held under the patronage of:
Prof. Sherif Massoud El-Badawy – Dean of the Faculty,
Prof. Amira Yassin Hekal – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Mohamed Hassan Mansour – Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Nanis Salah El-Beltagy – Director of the Center for Special Needs Services, with contributions from Dr. Abdel Hamid Ragab Abu El-Asa’ad – Coordinator of Special Needs Services at the Faculty of Engineering.
The session saw remarkable attendance from preparatory-year students and a number of first-year students, reflecting clear engagement and keen interest. This turnout signaled growing awareness of the importance of empowering and supporting colleagues with special needs.
The lecture addressed several main topics, including:
- Introducing the Center for Special Needs Services and its location within the university.
- Outlining the services provided by the center, including academic, psychological, and social support.
- Raising awareness of the rights of students with determination on campus.
- Emphasizing the faculty’s role in creating an inclusive educational environment that respects individual differences and ensures equal opportunities.
Dr. Nanis stressed that the center works to remove all barriers faced by students with special needs, whether in the academic process or in daily university life, noting the close collaboration with various faculties. She highlighted the Faculty of Engineering as a model worth emulating in this field.
Dr. Abdel Hamid Abu El-Asa’ad underscored that the faculty has a clear vision for its students with special needs, ensuring the provision of academic accommodations from admission, through performance monitoring, to appropriate psychological and social support.
