Workshops

 The Faculty of Engineering held a workshop on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in Al-Rowad Hall, titled "Requirements for International Accreditation According to the ISO/IEC 17025 Standard." The workshop was presented by Dr. Khaled Sadek from the Metallurgical Research Institute.

The workshop was attended by members of the working team for the accreditation project of the Water Quality Control Laboratory and the Heavy Structures Laboratory, along with a large number of faculty members from the laboratories undergoing qualification for international accreditation by the National Accreditation Council. The event aimed to exchange expertise and gather opinions to support the project’s progress towards achieving accreditation.

This workshop is part of the activities of the accreditation project for the Water Quality Control Laboratory and the Heavy Structures Laboratory, which is funded by the Higher Education Project Development Administration with an amount of 3.5 million Egyptian pounds. The project seeks to develop infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of the laboratories to obtain international accreditation.

The workshop’s goal was to familiarize faculty members and researchers with the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17025 international standard and the steps needed to obtain accreditation, ensuring the improvement of the quality of research and community services provided.
