A Report on the Faculty Council No. (597)
Faculty Council No. (597) was held on Monday, October 14, 2024, at exactly 10 a.m in the Faculty Council meeting room, headed by Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, interim dean of the faculty and in the presence of the faculty vice deans, heads of academic departments, directors of specific programs, several professors, emeritus professors, and a number of company officials.
Prof. El-Badawy opened the session by welcoming the attendees, wishing them success in the current academic year 2024/2025.
He expressed gratitude to Eng. Mohamed Mukhtar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pep Arab Control System Company, and Eng. Khaled Nasr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dakahlia Water and Sanitation Company, for the joint cooperation with the faculty.
- He congratulated everyone on the anniversary of the great October 6 victory.
- He extended his congratulations to Prof. Dr. Mervat Abu Al-Khair for her supervision of the faculty’s Quality Assurance Unit, Assoc. Prof. Mohamed Sabry Saraya for his renewed appointment as General Coordinator of Student Activities at Mansoura University, Assoc. Prof. Abdel Fattah Al-Adl for his new role as Director of the Engineering Laboratories Unit, and Dr. Asma Al-Awadi for her appointment as Director of the Student Projects and Competitions Unit at the faculty.
- He also congratulated the faculty members who were recognized in the Stanford Most Referenced List for their overall academic production for the year 2023.
- Prof. El-Badawy congratulated Assoc. Prof. Iman El Gendy, Department of Computer and Systems Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Mona Abu Al-Ezz, Department of Production Engineering and Mechanical Design, on their promotion to the rank of Associate Professor.
- He thanked Dr. Mohammad Mostafa for his achievements during his tenure as Director of the Student Projects Unit.
- He briefed the attendees on the activities that took place including: practical training activities for the MEP course in contracting work within medical centers project, the student competition in which our teams won first and second place in the Benha University Innovation Marathon, honoring the winners, and the meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council, the visit by a delegation from Larsen & Toubro with the aimed at training and appointing engineers to their companies, and the opening of applications for state and academy awards for scholars and distinguished individuals.
- Prof. El- Badawy congratulated the faculty members who won university awards and were honored at the University’s Science Day celebration.
- He praised the efforts of the heads of scientific departments and directors of specific programs for organizing the scientific conference for their departments and programs as well as celebrating the reception of the new students.
- He acknowledged Mrs. Samaha Kamel in Administrative Affairs for reaching retirement age.
- He invited the attendees to visit the Mansoura University Book Fair in its thirteenth session.
- He spoke about the participation of faculty in Cairo Water Week, where (20) graduate students and (5) faculty members took part.
Prof. El-Badawy praised the achievements and progress made in the Research Support Unit, directed by Dr. Mostafa ElBahloul, noting that (6) projects were submitted to the Projects Unit of the Ministry of Higher Education.
Prof. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Sahar Sedqi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Amira Yasin Haikal, Vice Dean of for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, honored a number of distinguished faculty members and members and administrative staff, namely:
Prof. Ahmed Hamed for receiving the University Appreciation Award
Prof. Mohamed Attia for receiving the University Award for Excellence
Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Metwally for receiving the University Incentive Award
Assoc. Prof. Mahmoud Saafan for receiving the University Incentive Award
Dr. Sama Fawzi For obtaining the best doctoral thesis award
Eng. Abdel Rahman Ahmed Hamed for obtaining the best master’s thesis award
Eng. Asmaa Mohammad Abdel Latif for obtaining the best master’s thesis award
Dr. Mohammad Mostafa for his distinguished performance during his tenure as director of the Student Projects Unit
Dr. Abdel Al-Fattah Al-Adl for his appointment as Director of the Engineering Laboratories Unit and in appreciation for his tenure as Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance Unit.
A number of members of the administrative staff and directors of some departments were honored for their contributions,
Mr. Karim Shawky, Director of Study and Examinations, Mrs. Sahar El-Warsh, Director of Student Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Abu Al-Khair, Director of Student Care, Eng. Yasser Kamal, Eng. Reham Muharram at the Studies Center, Mr. Ali El-Hadidy, Director of the Vice Dean’s Office for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. .
Following this, Prof. El-Badawy discussed agenda topics and made decisions with the esteemed faculty council members.
