A Report on the Visit of the Finnish Delegation to Mansoura University
A Finnish delegation visited Mansoura University, with the aim of discussing ways of academic cooperation between Finnish universities and Mansoura University, represented by the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Computer and Information Science.
Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Magdy Zakaria, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, received Professor Risto Vahanen, President of the Finnish Alliance for Higher Education, and the accompanying delegation at the office of the President of the University today, Monday, June 10, 2024, at exactly twelve o'clock.
After that, the joint delegation from both teams headed to the Faculty of Engineering, where they were received by Prof. Dr. Sahar Sedky, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. The visit program began with a discussion session between Mansoura University team in Al-Rowad meeting room headed by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University, with the attendance and participation of the Vice Deans of the Faculty, a number of faculty members, and the Finnish delegation team headed by Professor Risto Vahanen and his team. They discussed ways of cooperation in the fields of scientific research, technology development, and exchange of expertise and knowledge, as well as how to establish academic and research partnerships between Mansoura University and Finnish universities, and how to build long-term bridges in the fields of student exchange and scientific research on an ongoing basis. During the meeting, the scientific programs and degrees granted in the Faculty of Engineering and Finnish universities were explained, proposals were presented on how to develop these programs and future programs and how to link them to industry. The visit concluded with an inspection tour to a number of the faculty’s laboratories and centers, which witnessed impressive readiness with the latest scientific devices.
