Faculty Council No. (568) May16,2022

The Faculty Council No. (568) was held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at ten o’clock in the morning in the Conference Hall, with the application of precautionary reserves, the council was chaired by prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty in the presence of heads of departments, directors of specific programs and representatives of some external community institutions.

The session was opened by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty where his Excellency:

⁃ Offered words of welcome to all the attendees.

⁃ Extended words of condolences on the martyrdom of a lieutenant and ten soldiers of the armed forces, seven of the heroes of our armed forces following a terrorist attack in Rafah area, North Sinai. The death of Prof. Dr. Yahya Hussein Ebeid, former president of Mansoura University. The death of the father of Prof. Dr. Eid Abdel-Baqi and the death of father of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abd Aleem Yaquoot.

⁃ Expressed his appreciation that Prof. Dr. / Mohamed Awad, Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was chosen among the editorial board for (Energy Nexus) magazine affiliated to the publishing house (Elsevier). The magazine includes 64 editors and editorial board members from 25 countries.

⁃ Briefed the council about the six students who were selected for a training scholarship at the American University of Louisville.

⁃ Informed the attendees about the finals of the Foot Volley Championship for students of Mansoura University, which is being held for the first time inside Egyptian universities under the auspices of the Egyptian Federation for Recreational Games, implemented and supervised by the Faculty of Engineering.

⁃ Mentioned that the University Center for Career Development at the Faculty of Engineering, in cooperation with the Student Union of Mansoura University and the family of Students for Central Egypt with the Popular Defense Forces represented in Military Education at the university, organized a visit to the Air Defense College in Alexandria.

⁃ Displayed the photos of the government distinction visit and the visit to the medical program for postgraduate studies at Ghoneim Center.

⁃ Presented the youth care activity, including ( memorizing the holy Qur’an and the chess competition at the level of university students, with the participation of 12 faculties on the new stereo chess court inside the faculty).

⁃ Congratulated the Departments of Production and Design Engineering (PDE),Textile Engineering (TXT), and Computer Engineering and Control Systems (CSE), for their accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, and thanked the Quality Team, headed by Prof. Ibrahim Badran, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit.

⁃ Spoke about the renewal of all 11 accredited programs in the faculty as they were given 5 years to complete the quality decision.

⁃ Presented the activities of the Career Development Center during the month of April such as: workshops or the organization of the Innovation Day.

⁃ Spoke about the second engineering forum, which will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, May 18 and 19, 2022, where a market witnesses the presence of all scientific teams and student families in the faculty, in addition to presenting their various activities and projects throughout the days of the forum.

At the end of the council, His Excellency presented a video of appreciation, gratitude and thanks to Prof. Dr. / Mohamed Al-Shabrawy, the former Dean of the Faculty for the efforts made by His Excellency during his tenure. Prof. Dr. Sherif Massoud, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, spoke about Prof. Dr. Shabrawy and his rich history. A certificate of appreciation was offered to Dr. Mohamed El Shabrawy’s daughter.

Then, His Excellency moved to discuss the topics on the agenda and took decisions on them with the esteemed members of the Faculty Council.
