Announcement of the Egyptian-Japanese Educational Initiative (EJEP) for the year 2023/2024 (ninth announcement) for the University Undergraduate Stage

Within the framework of the presidency’s launch of the Future Minds Program initiative to invest in the minds of the nation’s youth in order to build a conscious and educated generation of Egyptian youth who have the capabilities and skills to contribute to building the new republic.
Within the framework of the Egyptian-Japanese Education Initiative, the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector (Central Administration for Missions) announces the opening of applications through the competitive system to obtain scholarships to spend a semester or academic year for the university stage, provided that the application is made electronically through the website of the Central Administration for Missions www.cdm.edu.eg from 12/10/2023 until 23/11/2023 and attach all the required documents on the website, the paper file will be delivered to those accepted after the announcement of the result, including all original documents that were attached electronically as follows:

The duration of study in Japan is as follows: -
* One semester for the undergraduate level.
* An academic year for the undergraduate level.
* All financial allocations determined are in accordance with the available funding and may be modified or changes may be applied by decrease or increase according to the circumstances and vision of the Ministry and what is decided by the Egyptian State and the Ministry of Higher Education as well as the Scholarships Administration and the Executive Committee.
* The missions bear all expenses related to the program (visa - round-trip tickets - accommodation - living - university fees) and the missions do not bear any expenses for bringing family or companions.
*This mission is available for all majors.
* Conditions for application: Age not exceeding 22 years on the date of the start of the advertisement. The applicant must have spent at least the first academic year at the university, and it is not permissible to travel during the last year. He must be enrolled in an Egyptian public or private university. He must have obtained a GPA of 3.2 or very good in previous years (each year separately). The statement of grades submitted must show the grade or percentage for each academic year separately, certified and sealed. He must present a linguistic level in the English language of 5.5 IELTS or 59 in the international IBT test, except for the Japanese language departments, must achieve the N3 level. There must be a student exchange agreement between the Egyptian public or private university in which the student is studying and one of the Japanese universities. The student is not allowed to apply to any other university.
* Documents required when applying for the advertisement: A statement of enrollment approved by the Egyptian public or private university stating that the student is in the group he is enrolled in. A certificate in Arabic with previous years’ grades (each year separately) showing the grade obtained by the student, provided that it is not less than GPA3.2 or very good. A certificate of deferment or exemption from conscription for males. A copy of the birth certificate. A copy of the national ID card or a copy of the passport. If available (it must be valid for two years) approval of the Egyptian public or private university in which he is studying regarding his candidacy for the scholarship (approval of the professor/dean of the faculty). An initial acceptance letter to a university in Japan signed by the university or the responsible academic supervisor at the Japanese university indicating the availability of materials in the specialization in the English language, except for the Japanese language departments (it must be taken into account that there is a student exchange agreement between the Egyptian university in which the student is studying and the Japanese university). A letter from the university in Egypt explaining whether the agreement concluded with the university in Japan is with or without tuition fees in the field of specialization.

* Documents required when traveling: -Original language certificate indicating a score of 5.5 in the IELTS test or 59 in the international IBT test, or achieving level 3N if it is a Japanese language department, provided that the certificate is valid.
-A final letter of acceptance from the Japanese university. Approval of Prof. Dr.\Vice President of the University for Student Affairs.
-Complete travel documents and procedures in accordance with the regulations and rules of the Central Administration of Scholarships.
It is a condition for students nominated for for one semester or a full academic year that the student be accepted in accordance with the approval of both the Egyptian and Japanese universities, with the approval of the university in Egypt on the equivalency of the academic subjects to be studied abroad. Scholarships have the right to determine a number of scholarships for each university according to the available budget, it is preferred that the agreement between the two universities must be without tuition fees.
* Taking into account the fulfillment of any other conditions required by each agreement.

Application is made electronically through the website of the Central Department of Scholarships, www.cdm.edu.eg.
Please note that the website will be available on October 12, 2023 (please check the website frequently). The paper file is delivered to those accepted after the announcement of the result, including all original documents that were attached electronically - to the following address: (7 Ibrahim Abu El Naga Street, El Sefarat District - Nasr City)  The last date for electronic submission is November 23, 2023.
* other notes :
* The student may not change the Japanese university he applied to except with the approval of the Central Administration of Scholarships and the Egyptian Cultural Office in Tokyo.
* Corresponding to Japanese universities and completing Japanese university admission procedures is the responsibility of the student.
* The student’s acceptance of the scholarship and the period that the student will study in Japan (semester or academic year) is determined based on the personal interview in the event that the student’s file is accepted.
* The Central Administration of Missions takes whatever measures it deems necessary regarding the grant
