Announcing: King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation 2023

The General Secretariat of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation has announced the opening of nominations for the award.

Award objectives:

⁃ Contribute to the transfer of knowledge from other languages ​​to the Arabic language and from the Arabic language to other languages.

⁃ Encourage translation in the field of science into Arabic.

⁃ Enrich the Arabic library by publishing distinctive translation works.

⁃ Honor institutions and bodies that have contributed outstanding efforts in transferring scholarly works to and from the Arabic language.

⁃ Upgrade the level of translation according to foundations based on originality, scientific value and quality of the text.

Award branches:

The award is granted in six branches:

⁃ Translation award in humanities from other languages ​​into Arabic.

⁃ Translation award in human sciences from Arabic into other languages.

⁃ Prize for translation in natural sciences from other languages ​​into Arabic.

⁃ Prize for translation in natural sciences from Arabic into other languages.

⁃ Translation award for the efforts of institutions and organizations.

⁃ Translation award for the efforts of individuals.

Award components:

A certificate of appreciation that includes justifications for obtaining the award.

The amount of 750 thousand Saudi riyals (equivalent to 200 thousand US dollars) for each award.

An amount of 500 thousand Saudi riyals (equivalent to 133 thousand US dollars) for the translation award for the efforts of individuals.
